@OMG67 just thought you should know that I saw @NorthernVoice at the Petes game tonight and it was a little embarrassing when he continued yelling "Shoot!" at the Petes players late in the game when the score was 7-1.
I was the only one there who understood why he was doing it......man did he get a lot of funny looks.
That Melee-Dubois-Stillman line has been awesome to watch. All three elevating their play every game so far.Glad Melee is silencing his doubters. That line has been great.
Obviously it’s only their second game together but hopefully the Hayes-Beck-Othmann line starts to click a bit better.
Shi* got real tonight.
The lines were just shook up. The top pp has 3 additions That’s hockey gotta get the clicking in game not practice.I am just going to through out a rant -
I am happy with the win and thrilled with our team -but I have to rant -
If I remember correctly ( please core me if I am wrong ) Earlier this season Ottawa was thumping us -in the third period Ottawa sent out their number one PP unit and Rob Wilson took exception to Dave Cameron doing that -
So what was Rob Wilson doing last night when it was 7-1 in the third?
Sending out his top PP unit -I don’t see the point here ? Especially since it was this behaviour from Ottawa that caused him to flip out-
I could understand if someone on our top unit was chasing a hat trick or some sort of game milestone -
Why wouldn’t he send out another line to try their hand at the PP? That was a great opportunity for another line to be out on the PP.
The hypocrisy bugs me -it’s ok for Peterborough to do it but not Ottawa ?
Also bugs me they didn’t try and further develop another PP unit.
Ok rant over -
That makes sense -that line of Othmann-Beck-Hayes needs to gel -so yes it does make sense to put them out there -The lines were just shook up. The top pp has 3 additions That’s hockey gotta get the clicking in game not practice.
You make a good point. Hard to disagree with what you are saying.I am just going to through out a rant -

The top PP unit was originally on the ice but Wilson then sent out the 4th line along with Mayer and McCoy before the face off. Mayer then scored quickly into the PP.I am just going to through out a rant -

Terrible loss can’t lose those type of games against teams below in the standings. Othmann needs to stop his whining and taking stupid penalties this seems like Merkely 2.0
Classic. That’s hilariousIf only there was some sort of indication he may be a problem. Seems odd this is happening. By all accounts, he seemed like a fine young gentleman in Flint.
In all fairness, Vaccari is on a heater. He’s been playing well.
Uggh. I was thinking the same thing last night...thus far we've only seen the bad side of Othmann. If he can just focus on playing hockey, that would be great. With he and Stillman, I do worry about really bad penalties at really bad times (come playoffs, especially).Terrible loss can’t lose those type of games against teams below in the standings. Just an observation from a non-biased fan from the north. As I watched this game I saw KTown play a team game, supporting each other on the ice and sharing the puck. When I watched the Pete’s I noticed a lot of selfish undisciplined individual play. When the game was near end and Pete’s needed a goal to tie, I noticed Lockhart, Stillman, McCoy on the bench. Pete’s have assembled some great talent, but hard TEAM work beats individual talent every time. I would say, you got out coached. Until all your super stars check egos at the door and accept a given role this group of players will have a hard time becoming a team. Everybody wants their cookies, and you have a team full of Cookie Monsters trying to keep (not share) one cookie/puck. IMO. Best of luck the rest of the way…The good news is that the coaches can look at the losses to KIngston and Sarnia and identify what causes a talented team to lose at home. Hard work beats talent and our guys need to be reminded of that. Kingston played a tight-checking game so the coaches have to pivot and adjust within a game, change the game plan. Gotta move the puck quicker and skate faster, get away more shots, whatever.
I don't like to blame puck-luck but the Petes had the puck do some weird things last night. But Vaccarri played solid and credit to the Fronts defense. Need to win more consistently if we're going anywhere in the playoffs.
We know what a hot goalie can do, see our SO Loss to Soo on Sunday; however, I didn’t see the high quality scoring chances and brilliant saves. Not to take anything away from the Kingston goalie because he was real good but 45 shots/44 saves.13 shots pretty much split evenly for Othmann-Beck-Hayes, and all +1. Were they that bad and selfish, or was the goalie as good as one goal on 45 shots suggests?

The way too early/small sample size update for the contest between
@OMG67 and @NorthernVoice.
NV is looking for the Petes to be at least 0.33 GPG higher than both Ottawa and North Bay at season's end.

I’m cheering for them right now lolI don’t think I’ve ever cheered for North Bay…..
How on earth Uens got an instigator on that fight is beyond me. If one of them should have picked up an instigator there it should have been Othmann. He’s always been a bit of that player and I don’t necessarily mind that but for whatever reason this year it’s been a lot more of the negative aspect of that style and less of the on ice benefits. I don’t know. I thought he’d come back from WJC a bit more reserved and on fire.Uggh. I was thinking the same thing last night...thus far we've only seen the bad side of Othmann. I didn't expect it to be as intense as it was last night. One of the feistier games I've seen in a while.
The team still seems a bit out of sorts at times. Maybe getting to go on the road this weekend will help with chemistry. And if they can thump Oshawa on Thursday, that would help immensely.
