That was partially what I was trying to say is that it is a well above average third line which allows us to roll out 3 very solid linesThat is not very much of a scoring line, but it is a well above average 3rd line/checking line imo. It will be difficult to play against to say the least.
that is a good point but the Peterborough Examiner said that if the Petes win the Eastern Conference final (meaning they would move onto the OHL Final) then it turns into a 3rd so it sounded like it was based off playoff success not regular season but the scheduling is confusing now.Dumb question......maybe I'm missing something?
The trade with Hamilton is:
Avery Hayes and Gavin White to the Petes
for
Lardis, Panwar, Flint’s 3rd in 2023, and Petes' conditional sixth round pick in 2026*
I've read somewhere that the condition on the 6th round pick in 2026 is:
If Petes win 2023 Eastern Conference championship, the PBO 6 2026 turns into SAR 3 2023
Now, my question:
Does "winning the 2023 Eastern Conference Championship" mean winning the East in the playoffs and going to the OHL Final?
OR
Does it mean finishing 1st in the East after the regular season is over?
The wording makes me think it's the former rather than the latter, but that doesn't make sense.
Playoffs Start March 29th
2023 OHL Priority selection April 21-22
The Eastern Conference playoffs won't be completed before April 21st.....so wth?

"The Petes also acquired overage forward Avery Hayes and overage defenceman Gavin White from the Hamilton Bulldogs in exchange for 2021 first-round pick Nick Lardis, overage forward Sahil Panwar, Flint's 2023 third-round pick and a conditional sixth-round pick that could become a third if they win the Eastern Conference championship." That to me sounds like they need to win in the playoffs but yeah it wouldn't be over by then...Peterborough Petes pick up Beck from Mississauga, Hayes and White from Hamilton in trades
Gone are Van Volsen, DeZoete, Lardis and Panwar.www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com
I think it makes more sense if it's the WSR 3rd in 2025 instead of the SAR 3rd in 2023that is a good point but the Peterborough Examiner said that if the Petes win the Eastern Conference final (meaning they would move onto the OHL Final) then it turns into a 3rd so it sounded like it was based off playoff success not regular season but the scheduling is confusing now.

I still think Ottawa, North Bay and Peterborough are above Barrie but the Colts definitely got betterOttawa picking up Mintyukov and Barrie getting Hache improves those teams on the back end immensely. The top four teams in the East are all built to win. It's gonna be a battle.
i think ottawa and peterbrough are, i dont think NB isI still think Ottawa, North Bay and Peterborough are above Barrie but the Colts definitely got better
I wouldn’t sleep on north bay. They may not have the top firepower like the Petes but they can go 4 lines deep. Defence is good and goaltending is good. Plus they’ve played most of the season without McDonald, Winslow and Mathurini think ottawa and peterbrough are, i dont think NB is
id be hoping for the stars to align and play NB in the 2nd round
no question your offence is lethal.. to have a stillman on ur 3rd line is something else.I wouldn’t sleep on north bay. I’d say out of Barrie Ottawa north bay and ptbo the Petes defence would be 4th bestno question your offence is lethal.. to have a stillman on ur 3rd line is something else.
r u concerned about your defense?
ya but ur fwds r so good tho they may be able to cover that upI’d say out of Barrie Ottawa north bay and ptbo the Petes defence would be 4th best
Yea I just think Ottawa and north bay still have more depth. The Petes have 7 guys with 10 or more goals right now North bay and Ottawa have 10.ya but ur fwds r so good tho they may be able to cover that up
he probably didn't want to leave a contending team,
Petes have way better offence then them thoughOttawa picking up Mintyukov and Barrie getting Hache improves those teams on the back end immensely. The top four teams in the East are all built to win. It's gonna be a battle.
I heard the Petes were in on Stewart, they threw 3 picks and a player at Kingston, but Kingston didn't want to play him 8 times a year. He will do great in Owen sound. Page is nowhere close to Stewart. Now I have to start watching and being an Attack fan, lolThats an interesting comparison. Stewart is super physical. I dont see that in Pages game. Maybe he wants to play liek that. But far too small to actually effectively do that. Dont expect our 4th line on the ice very much if its Page-Lefevbre-whoever with the top 9 the way it will be
3 picks and a player for a guy who can’t score and only hits would of been foolishI heard the Petes were in on Stewart, they threw 3 picks and a player at Kingston, but Kingston didn't want to play him 8 times a year. There’s no doubt the Petes top 6 is as good or better than anyone in the east. My problem is after that the depth just isn’t close to what north bay and Ottawa have outside of Stillman on the third line Melee and Dubois aren’t scoring many goals and the 4th line isn’t seeing much icePetes have way better offence then them though
A lot betterI still think Ottawa, North Bay and Peterborough are above Barrie but the Colts definitely got better
"3 picks" would have been 7th+8th+10th or something like that probably. With the top 6 the Petes have, if there not scoring its because of those guys not the bottom 63 picks and a player for a guy who can’t score and only hits would of been foolish

I agree but that’s my issue is the bottom 6 is gonna have to score and outside of Stillman nobody else is a proven scorer in the league"3 picks" would have been 7th+8th+10th or something like that probably. The Petes top six is unmatched imo. There should be no real concern about line matchingThe difference between Ottawa north bay and Peterborough is Peterborough is top heavy whereas north bay and Ottawa can play 4 lines. The Petes will likely be rolling out a 4th line with a combined 7 goals and a third line with a combined 22 goals. Petes are also only likely to have home ice in the first round so teams are gonna be able to matchup there top 4 d against the Petes top 2 lines.

Last change can be a factor especially against a good teamThe Petes top six is unmatched imo. There should be no real concern about line matching
huh? having home ice sets a lineup advantage to the home team? does the home team get to set their lines after the visitor or somethingThe difference between Ottawa north bay and Peterborough is Peterborough is top heavy whereas north bay and Ottawa can play 4 lines. Home team gets last change which favours them because they can match who they want against each linehuh? having home ice sets a lineup advantage to the home team? does the home team get to set their lines after the visitor or something
i seriously didnt know thisHome team gets last change which favours them because they can match who they want against each line
