And I’m very glad we split up that potential package. We were able to get Beck, Hayes and White for what a potential Wright deal could look like. Oke did a good job
If Beck returns for the Petes to trade next season, it was absolutely the right decision.

The biggest thing we need to hope for from here on out is that Ottawa or NB don’t land Mintyukov from Saginaw.
Sadly this aged very well with the 67s stepping up on Mintyukov. Ottawa looks like they will be tough and NB plays a bit different game (bit more physical ole school) so it should be fun in the East come playoff time. Good Luck the rest of the way …..

Well at least the ‘67s have a fighting chance in a playoff series with the Battalion or Petes now

Not to hijack this thread, only as a sidebar conversation, the 67’s needed the Centre. There was no doubt about that. I think they would have seriously benefitted from a significant upgrade on defence that give them two high end pairings. Add that to the overall depth and they are looking pretty venerable.

Without those two players, I am not sure they’d have gotten through to the 3rd round. To get through the 2nd round without adding, they’d have had to hold on to first in the conference and line up against a Barrie team that didn’t significantly add. I think they’d have managed to get through that series under that scenario. But, I think they’d have been in tough come round three.

Is there any guys that stick out that the Petes could get for say a 5th or 6th round pick

I think you need to be happy with your team now. Adding role players probably isn’t going to make much of a difference. You have some depth past Stillman as the #7 forward. I think you need to give those guys a chance at this point. Either a kid like Dubois is going to step up in the third line centre role or he isn’t. That would be the same for anyone you could potentially acquire. IT is now chemistry.

Can never have enough depth if you plan on making a long run injuries will happen

If injuries happen to any of your top 7 forwards, ain’t no depth you have or can acquire that make up for that level of talent.

Petes will mostly run two lines with the 3rd line getting solid minutes. You gotta hope the health sticks. The back end is fine enough and strong goalie. Petes gotta chance. Petes are top heavy and will win or lose based on that. Adding a guy to play 4th line than may drill up to the 3rd line in a pinch isn’t going to make a difference at this point.

Keep whatever picks you have left. Don’t trade any returning players. The blueprint was executed. Let it ride.

You know, if you try really hard, you may be able to find a way to shift all of your ‘04’s and younger for ‘03’s. That would make next year crazy!

Beck would walk into an empty dressing room, look around, and wonder what happened….

They are trying!

Is Guo any good? Sounds like he's a mobile dman which is what Lazary wants...I'll miss Gauvreau's toughness but he seemed out of place in the system that Saginaw has for defensemen.

Me too. Feels like something's coming
Yup to me you don’t make that trade for a couple reasons unless you’re moving those picks again. Leaves you with 2 right handed dman now and I don’t think Gavreau is much of an upgrade over Guo he’s just older more experience. Can they pry someone out of sudbury or Niagara maybe Michaud or Boudreau?

Another move has to be coming right?? Guo and Leskovar for picks means something. Find it hard to believe that Oke is just randomly trying to stockpile some picks

Guo seemed to only had one speed, never turned it up a level. Leskovar was good utility player (much like Spearing mould). Will do well in Missy with more ice time. They need toughness and strong def defman,. They get that and picks back to rebuild.

Dont think anything more. These are picks for this years draft. Now have 1,4,5. Prior had 1,6.
