I think London has played really well in the Finals. They’re fast, they check well and they capitalize on their chances but to me the reason the Petes are up in this series is their experience and their talent. When they’ve been down, there’s no panic. That’s experience and when they’ve needed big goals or stops, their top players have come through. That’s talent. It’s not over yet and no doubt London will fight hard but I just don’t think they can overcome the experience and talent of the Petes.

Im not counting out my team just yet, but the Petes are showing why they deserve to be here.

The production team for the Petes has completely knocked it out of the park during this postseason. The high quality videos, Notable Petes Alumni starting the siren, the national anthem performers. It’s really been on another level.
Have been saying this since game 1 of round 1. Absolutely amazing and elite stuff. Went to London for game 2 and they don’t even come close to all the stuff we do. Every round Petes have taken it to another level and it’s truly top notch in the OHL and frankly CHL+

Another gutsy win by the boys. The breakout speed of the forwards is electric with like 7 forwards who can handle the puck at high-speed very well. For whatever reason we can't do much with the PP but on the flip side, we scored all our goals even-strength!
Shout out to Simpson and the D, even White who's had some bad luck with the puck. He'll get there. Go Petes.

I still remember a few posters here being so upset over some of the trades, especially Othmann. Well now the team is 1 win away from the championship. That’s why you arent the GM..
Were people upset over the Othmann trade? They gave up so little to get him, even when he wasn't shooting the lights out, I don't know that many missed Guryev or the paltry picks.

There were definitely some upset over the Lardis/Panwar trade but as they say, flags fly forever. Hopefully they can secure one tomorrow night.

How about Konnor Smith's game last night. He killed a couple penalties single handedly. Have to think his NHL draft stock is going up.

There's something extra sweet about this team playing so well and having Avon, Stillman and Beck - all local to varying extents being such a huge part of it. Avon just keeps stepping up and his upward trajectory seems to just climb higher and higher.

i love the spring when we get a couple of juniors games aired in the states. first of all i could not love that barn more. i couldn't pick out peterborough on a map or know a thing about it but i love the town just based on the setup in that rink and the fans. wanted to get a look at othmann but that setup is vintage junior hockey with the square corners and oppo benches.

only watched that game but honestly was surprised by the final. was really impressed by the mobility and puck movement of the london back end, they really didn't let pbo get extended zone time and were able to get clean breakouts for the most part. thought pbo mobility on d and puck movement was really poor but damn those kids are dogs in their end. the whole team looks like they carry that mentality. london looked better up and down the ice but pbo brought the lunchpails in the d zone and had a decided edge in finishing their chances as well as in net. as an outsider, could not have been more impressed by everything about the game though, wish they broadcasted a few more throughout the year.

As much as I'd love to see them (potentially) win it at home Sunday, I hope they get it done tonight. They can't give London any thoughts of a comeback.
100% agree
Win if you can -it’s almost a must win for me.
The longer this series goes on the higher the risk of injury
London will resort to physical violence ( like any team would) so the sooner we get out of this the better

I as well agree. London has been running Simpson and getting away with it. They are smart in how they do it making it look accidental but it is not. If the Petes take out one of their guys who are doing the running it will result in a suspension. It's a fine line, we dont want to run Bowen because we want him in there. Dale and Mark will do what they have to do to win.

That’s a bold statement, Mark and Dale are many things and encourage tenacity but I know would not endorse or condone any running of players. I find both teams pretty respectful of the opponents. This has not been a dirty series.

As a fan of the Blazers in the dub, how does a 74 point team make it to the OHL final? Was the O that weak thus year?

In this case the Petes pulled it together in the playoffs and played much better hockey. They got some momentum and have run with it despite missing some key guys to injury or suspension.

I know right ?

We knocked off Ottawa who finished a whooping 33 points AHEAD of us -

We knocked off North Bay who finished 25 points AHEAD of us -

Some folks around town didn’t even think we’d make the playoffs !

The Petes are a far better team than their record indicates. They had good first half but made several trades at the trade deadline and it took time for them to gel as a team with all the changes. They also had many other players miss games because of injury and illness. They have already eliminated the top two teams in the league from the the playoffs. as they won both their series against Ottawa and North Bay. The OHL was a very competitive league this year and the Petes have in the playoffs shown how good of team they are.
