But that BS on Othmann in the first period -I cannot believe London got away with that
But you know what ? Considering everything -we are doing great -if we had our full team with no injuries to Spearing , Melee, Purdeller and Beck -
We would we running away with this
I saw the play but didn’t see that penalty either -And I watched like a hawk on all the replays -nothing-did not look illegal to me

The London player returned to the game so there was no injury. It did not look like a 5 minute penalty to me. I think the league will overturn the five minute and there will be no suspension.

Agreed, I think it looked worse than it was. Two minutes should have been the call.

Players from both teams are embellishing when there's contact and Lefebvre gets called on it but no one else. I think it was Barkey who went down like he'd been shot after Beck hit him and low and behold Barkey gets up after two minutes laying on the ice and looks no worse for wear. He managed to fix his hair as he skated off to the dressing room as per concussion protocol. And then he's back playing later on , no problem.
Credit to the Petes missing Beck and three other regular players, down to five defensemen the whole game, constantly killing penalties and still beat the Knights in their barn. Simpson a stalwart on the net . Huge win.

what replay were you watching? That' hit was a hockey play with no intention to injure with actually little if any head contact. Barkey got up and skated off on his own and returned to play.
Cowan spear on Simpson better be reviewed by the league. Simpson tripped up multiple times. Then the spear at the end
London fans at the game were already booking flights to BC. Hope there refundable 
The spear on Simpson and the Beck hit on Barkey were both clear penalties but neither should result in suspension
Penalty not a ten minute misconduct
Rule 62 – Spearing
62.1 Spearing - Spearing shall mean stabbing an opponent with the point of the stick blade, whether contact is made or not.
62.2 Double-minor Penalty - A double-minor penalty will be imposed on a player who spears an opponent and does not make contact.
62.3 Major Penalty - A major penalty shall be imposed on a player who spears an opponent (see 62.5).
62.4 Match Penalty - A match penalty shall be imposed on a player who injures an opponent as a result of a spear.
62.5 Game Misconduct Penalty - Whenever a major penalty is assessed for spearing, a game misconduct penalty must also be imposed.
Contact was made therefore a major penalty should have been called. Resulting in a game misconduct It’s black and white in the OHL rule book. Reid is a plug and should not be reffing in these games

Slash to the chest on othman in 1st. Ok, it didnt hit his face but still high stick to upper body. Is that not a penalty in any league? Spear and taking feet out of simpson, interference call? This was not a good ref'd game. Unlike Zito, player was back following shift. Shouldnt be extra.

That was an great game. The Petes got a split in London and took home ice advantage away from them. London is only 4-3 on the road in the playoffs and the Petes are 7-1 at home in the playoffs.
He still returned to the game. It was a shoulder to shoulder not a head check. The call on the ice will be overturned by the league. It will s funny the refs overturn almost all the 5 minutes penalties against the Petes opponent upon review but almost never over turn the same calls against the Petes.

To be honest I was not going to wear white until Michael Simpson said in his post game interview -that “the fansupport has been great with the white out”
I felt guilty -so I am back to wearing white

Well with Gauvreau back tonight and with Beck apparently NOT suspended, the other good news we need is a speedy recovery for Spearing, Melee and Purdeller.
In the meantime, so excited for tonight's game. London will come out hard but we have to continue to limit their quality scoring chances, numbers of shots notwithstanding.
The other key piece is to not be drawn into penalties. The Knights are good at subtle jabs and stick work and they run interference on our players in a way that they don't cross "the line" into a penalty call. The Petes also do this a bit but I gotta say we're not as good at it as the Knights.
For some of our guys like Hayes or Stillman, we gotta hold back on our reactions to the goading because a response to a non-call by the refs will be called.
Having said that let's rip it up tonight!
