the hit may have caused the Battalion to lose the series as Zito was a big clog in the troops armour. #3 defenitely deserved a 4 game suspension
What about the the player that cross checked Purdeller (who DIDN’T even have the puck )?

Purdeller “was a big clog in our armour” and now he is out with a broken fibula and a high ankle sprain ?

Is that four games too?

What about the player that pushed Melee into the boards resulting in a broken heel bone ?
Melee “was a big cog in our armour”.
How many games for that ?

I am sorry to see Zito hurt -it is terrible to see anyone injured.
The suspension should be on the severity of infraction and not on the victim’s importance to the team.

Gauvreau definitely deserved 2 games but 4 games is ridiculous.

This is not the regular season. If this was the regular season it would have been at most a five game suspension. In the playoffs what was usually a five game would be two or three games in the playoffs. If losing Zito caused them to lose the series then they were not as deep as team as the were suppose to be. The Petes were missing Jonathan Melee in the final game who has been key to the Petes success, we lost Shawn Spearing (who could be the Petes MVP in the playoffs) and we also lost Tommy Purduller in the same game. Gavin White missed most of the Sudbury series, Avery Hayes also missed a game due to injury. We also lost Chase Stillman to a two game suspension in the North Bay series Missing one key player did not cause North Bay to lose the series. The Petes were missing three key players for game 7 and still won the game and the series.

I just want to say no matter what happens in the seies against London the coaching staff and all Petes players deserve a ton of credit for getting this far. Wilson is a very good coach and the team has bought into his way of doing things. Keep up the good work and good things will happen. Go Petes Go.
This is going to be a great series. The fans of the Peterborough Petes deserve this great run that the Petes are on. It is great that a small market team is having a chance at a Memorial Cup championship.

It was a while ago now, and Christopolous laid some pretty big hits during the playoffs; but I recall the hit on (Melee by (Christopolous?) as ok

I thought the Stillman suspension excessive, 5 min and the game was appropriate, maybe one game if the league had to send a message

Broken jaw for Spearing. Might be back later in the series but will miss the beginning. Sure hope he can get back. Nobody deserves to be on the ice in this series more than he does.
Way back when I had the opportunity to help out a club with him as an underage callup at the ohl cup. Seemed like a good kid. Hopefully he can play in the series.

The OHL doesn't seem to be following the NHL model of "x games suspension in regular season = x/2 games suspension in playoffs". As long as they're consistent...

The Stillman one was automatic I believe, which again is fine (I disagree with auto suspensions in general they don't allow for any nuance) if that's how it is across the board.

There were ~6 slewfoot majors called throughout the season that did not result in extra games.

Isn’t it because the refs called a match instead of a major? Match penalties come with the auto two games don’t they?

I think the league mandated every single slewfooting call not overturned in game review is an automatic match with review.

Lockhart was a first round OHL pick, just behind Othman. Not underrated, underperformed in Erie up until this year.

Good game, played well going into a final in opposing arena with London having several more days rest and full lineup. Had some chances but didnt get bounces. On to Saturday.

AFAIK, HC has no Major for Slew-footing. Just a double minor or a Match.

Actually not bad at all!

Totally surprised by the Petes they looked so much better against this team than I thought they would

I was expecting a much stronger opponent-but nope.

If all they are missing is their #1 goalie then this is not the London I was expecting.

We are down 4 players AND are wiped out physically AND emotionally AND we were playing in their barn -London should have run away with it -and yet they didn’t

We only dressed 17 players -that’s practically a forfeit for lack of players

London should have clobbered the Petes-but they didn’t

Lots to work with here -
