It was hard to see during the regular season but it is immensely clear with the Petes heading to the OHL final that adding elite players like Othmann, Beck and Hayes was the right call. In close games where it looked like things could go either way these guys have continuously been the difference makers.
I think Othmann just had no motivation left to play OHL after completely dominating the league last season. I think after it became clear that he didn't make the Rangers all he cared was the playoffs and chasing titles. That's why he played a pedestrian regular season and asked to get traded to a better team. Kinda immature but that's classic Othmann. I think he was always gonna be ready for playoffs.

So if spearing is out and Gauvreau is still suspended for game 1 looks like the Petes will be dressing 5 defenceman

It's been a ride for JR Avon. Highly criticized "hometown pick", speed and not much else when he was selected. Mostly proved that right in his rookie year. Busted his ass and got signed by Philly before he showed much in the OHL (because covid years). Stronger and stronger last couple years. Huge goal in game 6 conference final. Game winner in game 7 to send the hometown team to the OHL finals.

I think tonight counts as Gauvreau’s second game of 2 games.
I think he is back for GM 1 in London-

Also have these past 2 years with Shawn Spearing as our captain -I would never ever rule him out -he would be ready to play with broken leg !

NB fans both online and in person were imo very respectful and really supported their team but didn't get into the bs at all. I really appreciated that and wish them all the best in the coming years.

I think the Petes were pretty clearly the better team this series in terms of skaters, but DiVincentiis is so good, I thought the Battalion might take it, right to the very end.

Great season by them, great team. Nelson is an absolute force too. Petes have so many offensive weapons and I think that was the difference.

There was only one chirp/troll attempt here from NB fans. Was a really nice change from the last two teams and their fans. I’m sure there’s some fans from eastern and northern Ontario that are going to be cranky all week because we’re still alive haha.

Congrats to the Petes on pulling it together in the playoffs. Very impressive win!

I'm just thinking back to how many people wanted the coach and GM fired. A few months can certainly change perspective.

Good luck in the finals vs London. Huge Bulldogs content with Hayes and White vs Diaco/Winterton/Humphrey. Should be fun.

Haters gunna hate. I’m a junior hockey fan as much as a Petes fan. Never get it how ppl get so butt hurt when another team wins or is winning.
I don’t get it either -and fans always seem
To forget that these are kids.

I am so concerned going forward -I was here for the 2006 series against London.

I remember some London fans coming on the Petes fan bus and using a fire extinguisher on our fans -

I hope Everything stays cleans and everyone conducts themselves with class.

Any word on our FEARLESS captain ?
Sending him lots of healing energy -did he make the trip back home or did they keep him at the NB Regional Health Centre?

Thats horrible. It only takes one idiot to leave a mark on a whole fanbase. Im truly sorry for such pathetic behaviour.
