I agree McGrail LD and Vellaris RD were top2 D men in camp not signed to a contract..but looks like only one got a contract.
Who was in net vs. Niagara on Saturday? and as well does anyone think that Avon could be back at sometime or are his chances good to play in the Philadelphia system.

If JR Avon was to return I doubt the Petes would trade him. In my opinion if Avon and Tucker Robertson were to return for their overage years they are two overages the Petes will keep unless there is an offer that is to good to turn down.

They’re likely to deal Simpson at some point so that’s back to 2. And being a year younger, there’s an argument to get him games over Sztuska. Better than Rye. If they do deal Simpson he would seem like a great option to take over even with all the signed guys atm.
agree but at some point you cant just sign everyone. how do you develop both rye and quizi? whats the long term plan in net? if you want a 3rd goalie, it should be an 07, not a 05, what if the johnston kid comes to camp next year, lights it up and you have 3 signed already?

Sounds like it was -I wasn’t there but a buddy was telling me it looked like there were 7 players in each box at one point !
I think that’s why he hasn’t been signed yet… waiting for the other shoe to drop first.
We will see, it may not happen still.
even three goalies, where the third goalie is an 05, is hard to manage. rye would be pretty pissed. is he truly worth it?
I really don't care if rye is mad he's 17 if quizi is better he deserves to be Back up when Simpson gets dealt and 3rd for now.
so then why sign rye him at 16 then? if you were not sure he'd be the backup at 17? especially if he had to move to peterborough to make it happen.
if rye is better at 16 then quizi was (im pretty sure he was), then of course he will be better, just as im sure there were better 18 year old goalies then simpson back in the day. sometimes you invest in a player you believe in vs another guy who may be a fraction better. and if they didnt believe in rye, i ask again, why sign him?
his dad is, but they were living in pickering at the time, his dad was a teacher in pickering and they moved back after the draft.
thats fine, but then why spend $10k or whatever in education packages this year and last year, just to cut the kid. they already made the decision last year.
if its best goalie for the job, then dont sign rye at 16. leave the back up job open the following year. its not like ontario goalies can go to the ncaa, they never get options. what was the rush to sign him last year?
Wouldn't be the first time someone including myself was wrong on a player. Players jump ahead of each other all the time.
