I think it has more to do with the Petes prospects being in Peterborough, at the Memorial Centre getting practice opportunities with the real Petes and the coaches, development staff, resources, video rooms etc
i get it, im just not sure that its lead to better players coming out of u18. outside of simpson has it made a measureable difference in the development of prospects? i dont think there is evidence that it has. a local u18 feeder hasnt lead to better players on the petes as of yet.

That’s fair. Obviously getting into a quality Jr.A or B program and getting icetime would be the preferred option.

thats why mccallum went to lindsay i would think have to wonder if patey or kavanagh would be better off playing jr a when they were 16. i think if you can, jr b is way better. patey was way over hyped by website scouts but he should have been a decent depth ohl player.

id be curious what it costs the petes to billet the players, if they have too.

When I was 6 and Dave Lorentz was captain of the Petes, he got me in and gave me a tour of the dressing room after one of the games, so there's that.

It’s depends on Robertson if he comes back I think but I heard Mayer in Ottawa or Sudbury

If Mayer is going to Ottawa or Sudbury, I can't imagine Oke will do it before the deadline.
It would be bad enough having to face Mayer playing in the East for the last half of the season let alone the whole season!

Unless Oke gets an early offer that is too good to pass up - so many variables......which OAs return, what offers they get pre-season, optimizing the 1st half lineup to earn enough points to qualify for the playoffs even after selling off at the deadline.

Less than 2 weeks until training camp. I believe Wednesday August 30th will be the first on-ice day.

You should hit him up for another dressing room tour.......I believe there have been some changes since then :DD

Ya know-that Mayer is some kind wonderful.
Regular season Mayer was a dependable good stay at home defender -but nothing that exciting just a good solid defender.

Playoff Mayer was a total BEAST !
It was like he was a completely different player -he would rush the zone and score.
He unleashed a brutal punishing style -ai was so surprised.

Anyone going for a playoff run would be lucky to get him -and I hope they pay dearly for him

to be fair when has peterborough ever signed a higher end american? nothing wrong with trying at all, just expectations need to be fair with regards to recruiting.
True. I guess I just don’t understand the decision… play for a coach that just won an OHL championship and graduated multiple players to pro hockey or play for western Michigan?

Interesting choice but It’s clear his priority was staying in Michigan but you’d hope to at least get Michigan or Michigan State.

just as playing in peterborough probably would be amazing for a peterborough kid, playing in michigan would be amazing for a michigan kid. plus, you dont know what, if anything peterborough offered the kid, what if the michigan education deal is way better? i can't see peterbough handing out 30k american a year to a player, but thats me. maybe they did.
