We need to free up some cash upfront to spend on the back end. Bolland can step in and play 2C anyways if Holland is feeling the pressure. McKegg/Gauthier/AHLcallup(like a Smith) can fill in for injury. If we are strong on the Wing/Defence/Goaltending and have a solid back up plan for centers, I don't see why we can't let Holland get a chance to thrive, he looks good enough for the opportunity.

We won't get Tanev for that but if we did my d combos would be:

Phanuef - Girardi
Gunnarson - Tanev
Reilly - Gardiner

Maybe Nonis' plan all along was to play Bozak on the top line to pad his stats, sign him long term for 2nd liner cap hit, then trade him while he's at his peak and his contract looks good, then replace him with a young prospect? What a genius.

I am happy for Holland, most impressive is when a guy scores 2 and it is a W. He needs to keep showing this level of play, for young guys being consistent is the hard thing. But if he plays like he did tonight. I would gladly forfeit the 2nd rd pick.

WTF, CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHY WE WANT KADRI SHIPPED OUT? HE IS BETTER THAN ALL OUR CENTRES NOW AND IN THE FUTURE, (NOT INCLUDING PAVELSKI OBVIOUSLY).

That same Gardiner who has 7 points in his last 11 games. He's been playing great hockey despite the team struggling as of late.

Maybe all he needed was a change of scenery to come into his own. It's happened countless times for other prospects in the NHL, and he's a hometown kid.

He needs to keep playing in the top 6 for a while to see of he is ready to stay with the big club, but so far, he has been excellent. He has great vision and he can finish around the net.

Kadri is the closest thing to a #1C we have, do you really thing a team would want to downgrade their centers for a package consisting of Bozak and Kadri?? Yeah we'll give you Nathan Mackinnon just give us Bozak and Kadri

Holland looks better with Lupul than Kadri has this year. Last year Kadri was magic with Lupul. Maybe this is an audition of who gets this coveted spot on the Leafs longterm especially if Kadri demands a big contract when his contract is up.
