I like what Oilers did this offseason signing Lucic and think that he will help the team cause major damage and ive spoken a lot about that recently, so maybe that's what you've seen.

I try to stay as positive as possible on threads now though at all times due to certain reasons hahah.. I give credit to all teams tho when credit is due. I despise the Leafs also but have given them a ton of credit for what they have built and am really looking forward to seeing them next year and in future

Thats actually not uncommon in the Oiler fanbase (which that poster isn't even a part of). There have always been some within HF Oil that were not big fans of Hall.

RNH and Eberle definitely fill more definied roles than Hall did.

Not sure I'd say that. Hall was the most dominant offensive player of the 3. He's certainly not a sniper like Eberle, or a good 2-way player like Nuge, but he's a scoring chance creating machine. Sure he turns the puck over a lot and sometimes makes the odd boneheaded pass or forces a play, but he more than makes up for it with his ability to get the puck into dangerous areas for him and his teammates. That was his role and he does it well. If he was a better finisher he would be producing like Seguin is, but unfortunately he just doesn't have anywhere near an elite shot.

No, the Oilers just got fleeced. Hall should have been traded for someone like Subban, not Larsson.

Even the most homerific HF Oil members knew that Hall was never worth Subban. The asking price for Subban was apparently Hall, Draisaitl and 4th overall and even that might have been off the table once Dubois was picked 3rd. Too high.

Hall was lover by many and hated by many here in Edmonton. I have many friends who would call him Taylor Fall and demand he be traded even for a bucket of pucks. I liked Hall though he was a good player but was never a big fan or anything. I actually can say I know more Oilers fans who wanted Hall gone and thought he wasn't a good hockey player then I know Hall fans. At the same time I know lots of people who thought he was the best player on the team.
I really like the Hall move for Larsson(took me a day to realize that's what it was gonna cost) and the signing of Lucic. These two things alone ave me happy with the off season let alone Puljujärvi being drafted. Would be nice to add Barie though hope we see more action from Chia

Edit: Also if you looked back in alot of the game day threads for the Oilers you will see alot of Hall hater and lot of Hall defenders. He wasn't loved by all

Hey I watched nearly 20 EDM games before christmas. I think I might know more than you what goes on in that team, since I watch multiple teams for total of 150 games per season incl ANA and FLA.

For example I don't think Nurse is the tirefire bust all of you make him to be. Fantastic tools, but needs 3 years cooking to play top roles. Forcing him to play top4 is a travesty.

For example I don't think Nurse is the tirefire bust all of you make him to be. Fantastic tools, but needs 3 years cooking to play top roles. Forcing him to play top4 is a travesty.

Did he ever play top 4?? Maybe for a couple games at the start of the season but klefbom sekera davidson nurse tended to be the depth chart. Oh he probably did after davidson got injured and klefbom wasn't back at the end of the year.

We have a long term plan for Nurse. Hopefully he gets some time in the AHL for Bakersfield this season as "the guy". Slap an "A" on his jersey and put him on the 1st pairing. Ask him to be a leader and play big minutes in all situations. 26-30 mins/game would be perfect for him.

Nurse will eventually be our 2nd pairing LHD behind Klefbom. When he grows from a lanky puppy into an alpha dog he'll be 6'4 225-240ish with elite skating and a nasty edge. Every single team in the NHL would love to have Nurse on their D core. He'll also play PK minutes. Further benefit is he is expansion draft protected.

Nurse isn't going anywhere. Chia loves him and what he brings to our team.
