I like the IDEA of having Corey perry. I'm conflicted about a REALITY of having Corey perry. Either way, highly doubt he comes back to Canada, doubly so for the leafs. My money is on Florida or LA... maybe Boston, ugh.

Edit- The leafs do have bellows in the minors still w/o a contract at almost 25 games played. If you're going to give up a contract spot, why not him instead of perry?

Perry isn't a good player anymore. His TOI with Tampa was down to like 11.5 minutes, and he's totally lost his wheels. He's also clearly had some off-ice issues, and we don't know for sure that he'll sign for league minimum.

The negatives far, far outweigh the possible positives of him being a banger for a minute in a playoff game.

We got enough art. We don't need more artsy-fartsy players. We need more grit and willingness to "do what it takes to win". Those qualities are in Perry's resume. He's a lot better than Reaves for the 4th line and he's not going to get paid like he was when he was in his prime.

This is the type of player the Leaf management has paid draft capital for in the past and we can get him for free and most likely at league min. If its not working you put him on waivers after the tdl.
Whats the risk? Messing with our teams killer instinct?

Adding Perry with playoff Bert and Domi makes this team better suited for the playoffs
