On my other screen while I tried to figure GW2 out again. I don't even get mad anymore.

I love that I don't even have the slightest clue what GW2 is. Garden Warfare 2? George Washington's secret son?

For me it's the Yakuza games making these games on a tiny screen off to the side remotely tolerable. Seems like the kind of series I should have been all-in on for years if not for their atrocious choice of original genre. Beat 'em ups should have died in 1989. Getting around to Like A Dragon has been atop my queue for years and I'm finally getting around to it. Way more entertainment value in my first 20 hours there than in the past 3 seasons of Penguins hockey...

Guild Wars 2, but i'd try a demo of Garden Warfare 2.

Ah, that explains it. I've been a 'gamer' my entire life, but MMORPG stuff exists in a completely separate realm than I do.

Probably the right kind of game to be double-screening during these games. I'd slag the Yakuza games for requiring too much of my attention to be a proper second screen option, but that's firmly a feature and not a bug at this point.

I saw that new one on steam on pirate ships.

“You can see the skill level that he has,” Sullivan said of the 27-year-old. “He gets a grade-A look on the 2-on-1 and just misses his mark. He made a few plays. He has good tight-area skills. I think he skates well. So there’s a lot to like there.”

as predicted. Novak is already a Sullivan favorite.

Good. Get him up with Malkin. Pump his numbers.

Was at the game and I did like what I saw from Novak. I’m so glad this team has their own first round pick because I’d be really pissed if the sharks had it. This team just seems to be going through the motions waiting for the season to end. Suillvan your coaching one of the worst teams in the league it’s ok to call a timeout when your team is down.

I'm hoping that this team will be more fun to watch once everyone is settled in. I'm worried that We still have too many shit vets like Accari and Hayes that Sully won't call up any kids.

Truly difficult product to watch even with regular start times. Having several games on the abstract TNT channel doesn't help - nor NHL network. But - self admittedly I only tune in for about 1 out of every 5 games over the past year or so.

I've noticed that the threads are both dead and we don't even bother doing post game analysis anymore. Assuming that's because we lose - because we suck. The roster is flat out undeniably terrible - and the coach is so stale he's literally turning to dust. Almost like the average HF poster knew that hitching our wagon to a terrible coach, terrible goalie, terrible D corps, terrible bottom 30 forwards, and weak top 6 sled-dogged by a nearly 40 year old goat wouldn't be competitive.

That said I do think I'd tune in more to see Sid/Geno together but they refuse to do it for whatever reason.

Idk if it’s because I’m six months younger than Sid so the realization that his career is almost over has launched me into a mid life crisis or if it’s the fact that this team is the only one in the city that is operating how they should….but I’m watching a ton of games. And hockey in general.

With that said it’s hard to feel good about determining a true direction while Sullivan is still behind the bench. Maybe they go like 3-14 the rest of the way and both sides agree to part ways. That would be ideal. But as we’ve said multiple times it’s hard to get too excited about drafting/trading/signing a competitive core if the same guy is coaching them.

Here’s how the new guy acquitted himself according to one article…Sullivan misusing him already as a defensive player lol…

“Newly acquired Tommy Novak had a rough night as the third-line center. He won just two of six faceoffs, and the line with Danton Heinen and Philip Tomasino was on the wrong end of nine scoring chances (SC) and seven high-danger chances (HDSC).

They generated just four SCs and two HDSCs. They were largely kept to the perimeter and quiet.”

That's about all I want too. Maybe even next season too? get another top 5 pick.
Fine by me. I just wish Dubas and the Pens PR machine would shut the F up about "competing" next year. I'm gonna hurt myself from rolling my eyes so hard. This team isn't making a run unless Sid, Geno and Letang all wake up next year a decade younger.
