Dude what? Petr Mrazek played like an ECHL goalie and is paid like a 1b. They bribed them because he sucks and is paid triple what he should be. Zucker is a middle six NHL player with a slightly expensive contract. You don't have to bribe teams to take good NHL players off your hands. Petts is a positive too. There's no way we'd have to add just to move on from them. Just because guys aren't as high impact as we wished they were doesn't mean they have negative value to NHL teams. A team like Seattle would take Zucker or Petts in a heartbeat if we were willing to give them away for a 4th or 5th.

Yea to be honest Pettersson had an ok season and a really good first round. He’s not garbage.

Definitely. If Geno signs for the rumored 6 (I dont care the number of years at this point) we're looking at 9.3 left. Move Petts for minimal salary or futures (or Dumo, if absolutely necessary) and suddenly were talking about Rakell+ in terms of adding to the team. Go for freaking broke in the next couple of years, IMO, on the off chance that 87/71 activate god mode and we can get one more cup.

My comment about Sully was tongue-in-cheek, btw. I love the guy for what he's achieved here, but I think if we stand a chance at another cup, it has to be with a fresh voice behind the bench.

Lol. I love it when people say stuff like this…no one wants to silence you. You said “what’s the point of even following this team?” We just pointed out that no one is forcing you to follow them. But if you stopped following them you wouldn’t be able to come in here and spout off about how ahead of the curve you always think you are. I don’t care if you have a negative opinion about the team or disagree about what moves should be made. If what they do bothers you so much…stop following them. It’s easy

Look, it is definitely a positive if we can sign both Letang and Malkin for $12+ million total. That will be good on Hextall for doing so.

But I have no faith in his ability to bring in the right pieces to complete the puzzle. We should not bring back Rodrigues, Heinen or Kapanen. Nothing against those players but we don't need them. We need different players. We need one more impact forward. We need to bring in some of our young players into the mix, and we need players who are definitely harder to play against come playoff time. Defensively, we really could use a physical element back there.

To make it happen, Zucker and one LD need to be sacrificed. Because if we end up bringing back pretty much everybody, there is no point to this. We don't need to save money on both Letang and Malkin just to give it to Rodrigues and Kapanen.

Let's see if Hextall and co. understand this or continue to stubbornly believe that this team is a contender.

If most "fans" are cheering the signings of Carter, Rust, Letang and soon to be Geno........ Then yes, that will put me way ahead of the curve in the very near future when those same fans are whining in regards to the current state of the team.

Heinen can definitely come back for the same cap hit, but he’ll get a bump. The problem is that sleepy went a little overboard with depth wingers last season. Depth wingers shouldn’t play on the second line…

I hated the Rust signing. I think he’s a product of getting force fed minutes with Sid (and Geno too) and I didn’t want him back at all. Most people on this board hated the Carter signing. You are calling people ignorant for not following your line of thinking regarding what the team should be doing…yet everyone else wants to silence you for having a different viewpoint. I did feel the need to explain it to you because you are the one who literally said “why even bother following this team?” I just answered your own question. We all know this team is going to suck royally in a few years. Not bringing Geno and Letang back does nothing to change that. No, it doesn’t “speed the process up” and allow us to get better sooner
