I don't recall it saying a four-year deal was on the table.

This is what it says at the moment:
Malkin wants more than three years. Hextall doesn’t want to budge from three years, though The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun reported Monday the sides are making progress. A team and a league source confirmed LeBrun’s report and said Hextall and Malkin’s agent, J.P. Barry, discussed partial parameters of a potential four-year deal.

It is odd how Dreger and others get all the info first and the Malkin whisperer doesn't. He should have been first to report it.

I hope you're right and this is just a GM and agent playing hardball. Pretty uncomfortable sitting here less than 48 hours from free agency though. Nothing we get in FA will be as good or as cheap as Malkin.

I can't believe anyone takes that guy seriously. He's so full of it.
 
Why are people referencing an article that said "the Penguins will qualify Heinen and are only 50/50 on qualifying Kapanen" when it was posted as an article with any sources or truth?

Guhle signed in Germany already, which suggests there will be nominal interest around the league, or perhaps he just doesn't want another two way deal and end up in the AHL for the season.

I was surprised about that. Seemed like a guy they liked. Could be a good ERod like replacement - C/W bottom 6 guy who may still put it together. I asked Ducks fans what was up about him.

What did you think of the RR acquisition at TDL, and the Rust and Letang signings? Why notwait until thursday or friday to panic?
