You know what's good? I was invited to a Hendricks Gin excursion, am drank as f... and gonna be waking up with Geno being signed to a new contract, at least I hope so.

This whole stuff about his contract seems a little weird to me. Too many "insiders" are talking too much bull.

Oh there is a ton of noise for sure. Right now I believed Geno is pissed at someone and rightfully so. I still think hes doing this deliberately to have fans get angry and out for blood. Still believe he signs something tomorrow.
 
Tbh, unless Murray refinds his durability, it won't matter where he's going, he's not going to get it done anywhere playing only ten games at a time between injury. Love the guy, but he is a true Penguin even if he left.

People need to calm down if for no other reason than I can’t sift through 17 pages in the last 25 minutes just to find any QO discussion.

Maybe Malkin signs or he doesn’t but people act like these sort of negotiations can’t turn on a dime in an instant.

Idk Rossi hasnt really conflicted himself. And what does geno have to gain if they are leakin about a 4th year not being there. The fourth year? I mean it should be on the table. If it isnt then they should leak that.

The entire point about this Malkin situation is it shouldn't have gotten to this point. It's poor time management and poor asset management.

Malkin is the best fit at center for the Penguins based off of what is realistically out there in free agency. No one is saying he should get $8 million a year, but a reasonable 7x3 or 6x4 deal has been within reach for weeks, and we're only now getting to that point. The slow play is ridiculous. This management team had the entire postseason to negotiate and it comes off like they procrastinated until the last week or two.

Also, now the Penguins have to devote time to either making up with Malkin to get him signed or shifting attention to brand new negotiations with free agents from other teams. Instead of bidding only against themselves, they'll now be bidding against the rest of the league.

There was a clear path to re-signing Malkin, trading players like Pettersson for additional cap space, and signing two top six wingers to play with Malkin, making this team far more dynamic.

That may still happen, but it's going to be a lot more frantic and difficult if they don't have their No. 2 center locked up before noon July 13.

early today, yohe/ rossi put out an article, that article said they offered 3 years. After the national reports of a 4th year being offered, they ninja edited the article to claim 4 years.

then Rossi fails to break this latest “he’s going to FA” article. Then, to make it look more valid, he takes back the 4th year news and says only 3.

dude is getting second hand information and creating “facts” to make it seem like he has sources.

Umm free agency starts in like 36 hours. Players that remain unsigned this close to Wednesday should concern fans. Some of you act like free agency begins in August, plenty of time!

Why are we still negotiating with Malkin a day and half before free agency starts? Why couldn’t our dumbass GM talk to Letang and Geno at the same time??? Did scrub Hextall really think it would be that great for Letang to announce the Pens pick in Montreal????

When will some of you wake up to realize Hextall is a f***ing joke????

I’m with you on this. Having cap space hasn’t exactly been our strong suit for quite a while. I’ll be willing to bet, like you, that he’ll move other pieces to shed salary as well.
 
Rossi is an HFboards dipshit like any one of us that had media access a decade ago and thinks of himself as some radiant expert on all things Penguins hockey.

The penguins can afford Geno with or without Carter’s deal. If they are holding firm at a number, it’s for other reasons

Yohe also said that Heinen was definitely getting a qualifying offer this morning and Kapanen was 50/50.
