Spencer Carberry paid his dues as head coach in ECHL and OHL, moved up to AHL and is now in charge of Toronto's power play, so he understands how to get talented players to actually produce on the man advantage.

Andrew Brunette. Florida wasn't built to win in the playoffs last year and Brunette got the fuzzy end of the stick for their flameout. Lengthy career as a player, worked as an assistant and in the front office. Only issue is his DUI arrest earlier this year.

Those are the types I am interested in.

I really want to enjoy the last years of Sid and Geno's careers, but I just can't with Sullivan as coach. He sucks the enjoyment out of watching this team.

So it's like on one hand I tune in to watch their twilight years because it'll end at some point, but on the other hand it's not a fun experience because of the smug jackass behind the bench doing things that make following this team simply excruciating.

I'm not super concerned with who we replace Sullivan with, so long as we do. There's plenty of viable candidates out there, and plenty of coaches who would jump at the chance to coach this team.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Boudreau hasn't won a playoff series since the 2014-15 season and has made it to the conference finals once in his career.

So what? Bruce has never coached our big three. Our core has a funny way of making new coaches suddenly achieve new heights. See Bylsma/Sullivan. I have no doubt this team would not underachieve under Boudreau as it has for the last five years. At least not for a year or two. And that is all we've got, then we're f***ed.

For the same damn post-game excuses, every single time, for continuing to give every member of his boys club top-6 minutes in the roughest streaks of their careers, and for sticking up for Big Jeff Carter who was anchoring the NHL's worst line. For the complete lack of synchronization with our GM. Do these guys even talk? For not playing our PP goal leader on PP1 the whole year, and moving him onto Line 3 as a solution during our roughest patch of the year. For being a complete dumbass.

Minus: Tristan Jarry posting top 50 goalie stats at the most crucial time of the year. Never managed to prove himself, not even once, this time of the year.

Minus: Sleepy, for sleeping through this entire season, then at the last minute getting our hopes up shipping half our bottom-6 out only to make the worst TDL acquisition of 2023 and the worst in the past decade for the Penguins. Minus for carelessly blowing up our 2023 draft class (save for that 17th overall pick, woohoo, Kapanen 2 incoming) with no apparent plan other than to appease an anxious fanbase and ownership group. Minus for 2 more years of Granlund at 5 million. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Goodbye Ron.

Jarry out, Sully out, Sleepy out, and load up again for the next 2 years. Make a goalie trade.

If we can get Zucker in the 5 mill range extend the guy, but I don't blame him if he wants to walk away from this dumpster fire. I guess in that case we can try Granny in the top-6.
