Not for sid, he'll get to play with his longtime best buddy, and he won't be expected to carry the whole enchilada. He accrued 1500 points here. Sounds like an even number to me, and in the process we get several good pieces for the future. Sounds like a win-win to me. Financial flexibility to retain salary for even more assets. I love it!

Nothing about Sullivan…he needs to go

He's not wrong. He just needs to also include Sullivan, and the scouting dept.
There's no point in just replacing one or the other. They literally need to hire an entirely fresh group. So sorry FSG that you have to eat a contract before it even begins in Sullivan.

But we'll get a new GM. With Sullivan. And we'll get to watch the same on ice product and slowly watch the parrots blame the new GM for our on ice issues. Lol.

It's f****** bizarro world and I'm getting too old for this.
I mean, a good move is a good move. Firing one or the other, they're both deserving. Firing both is the correct route.

But if anyone has any legitimate expectation Sullivan is fired, they're absolutely out of their minds with copium.

Well, they might end up playing the Metro winner. But it should be an exciting playoff regardless. I Look to bet and make a lot of money on these first round series. At least a team that deserves to be in the playoffs will make it. So we can all take comfort in that.
I can't wait for NYR to lose in R1 like they should have last playoffs before they took out Crosby.

Sid in any NHL jersey that isn't a Pens jersey is objectively disgusting

It blows my mind how this place absolutely *has* to make it one or the other, when in reality, this team's been taken into a swan dive over the past half decade by both the front office, past and present, as well as Sullivan.

That's the thing that confuses me more. I posted on reddit that "even had Hextall built the surrounding cast well, this team would lose in the 1st round like they have for years" and it got downvoted. Like what team are you watching that you magically thing this team is anything special?

I really think Penguins fans are absolutely delusional with the state of this team. They've lost in the 1st round for 4 straight years and are likely going to miss the playoffs this year. Yet everything outside of Hextall is fine? You're at least starting to see some criticism thrown at Sullivan, but it's substantially less vocal than the criticism thrown at Hextall.

I think Penguins fans grossly overrate both the core and Sullivan for what they're providing today.

O I am all too aware Sully goes nowhere. BUT man would I love if FSG showed a pulse and canned him with the front office. Put out a statement like "this isn't acceptable, we are sorry for the product you've paid for. Please consider this a token of our appreciation for your support"

E-Rod sucked just as bad when given the Sullivan bottom-6 treatment.
Not really at all. Consistent offensive pressure from him atleast. Gained the zone better than most players in the NHL. He just had terrible finishing, but he created.

Sid is not going to leave the team.

But if this is gonna be your thing for the foreseeable future just give me a heads up so I know if I should just block you now
Absolutely, I want his sorry ass out of town so feel free to block me. And any of you other blokes feel free. But I told you guys for the last couple years this was not a very good team, now you see the folly of your ways.
