I still don’t believe any coach should ever be retained for longer than six seasons unless they are in the midst of a dynasty run and winning consecutive cups…

If i had scotty bowman in his prime I’d still feel the same… retaining them too long creates teams with ingrained systemic flaws that the same coach will never see

We should have moved sully around 2020…

You, uh... You like the state he left the Flyers in?

Dude ain't cut out for a team with Cup aspirations, and as much as we all have hopefully leaned into "he's a builder!" coping mechanism, he's never built a f***ing thing.
He's built an awfully stinky pile of shit with the Pens. Just go log in to capfriendly and check it out

Metzer is saying now Chicago had advantage since they came 3 o'clock last night these guys around Pittsburgh Penguins are just weird

I feel the same way, but about Sullivan.

Fire Hextall, sure. Seems like a given, but nothing's going to change unless they fire Sullivan, too. The roster sucks, but it doesn't suck bad enough to lose to the worst team in the league, at home, with the season on the line.
I mean, I agree. Sullivan should've been coaching another team from October 2020 onward. But they extended him two years before his current deal was even up, following his fourth consecutive 1st round exit.

I have zero faith that dude's ever leaving unless he quits. He's gonna be around coaching the next crop of top-5 picks to play the team to a draw and using ZAR backgrounds for all his video meetings.

Then nothing's going to change.

Have literally read this exact quote I think a dozen times this year.

I distinctly remember reading it after the Habs loss where he said yeah we waited until the third to go to the net.
This guy needed gone a while ago. I don't understand why we're dragging along with him. It's asinine.

I think if we're going to make any big moves this summer it will have to be via trade. There's not much available with free agency.

And that scares me, given Ron's track record, and given the types of players that Sullivan is apparently asking him to get.

It blows my mind that Penguins fans still defend this guy and blame Hextall for all of the problems on this team.
It blows my mind that anybody doesn't think that both Hextall and Sullivan suck ass.

This isn't complicated. They all suck. Nuke the front office, and nuke the three coaches behind the bench. Clean slate. You're FSG. Put your stamp on it

Not directing this at you specifically, just sayin'. That's my feeling on it

I mean this team hasn't had that fight in them since the Wilson destruction of Aston-Reese's face.

It's been coached out of their game systematically for 6 seasons.
