It feels like we can break through the Isles in any case. Again, good chances and nice goals. Kapanen almost rescued us. Dude is picking corners like crazy. He turns the tide with one play.

On the positive side, Letang played a fantastic game

His scoring was nonexistant, he blew a couple of chances to get us over the top, but at least he didn't singlehandedly create any of the GAs, like he usually does, so by he standard - yes that was a great game.

It doesn't matter what kind of plan Sullivan comes up with if he's going to get this level of goaltending behind the team.

Jarry was a piece of excrement, but to be fair our reportedly deep and star-studded offense could've created more quality chances and finished them better.

You know it’s really weird, you don’t post on here when the team is winning. I bet that’s just a coincidence though. It’s not at all because you are just a massive troll. Nah, that couldn’t be it

If they lose game 2, you might as well shut it down.

And if they lose in round 1, be it sweep or 7 games, Sullivan is canned. Book it.
Rather than booking that, I'd prefer to bet on it not happening. Between his winning the East and the past behavior of our new GM, I'd say he's secure for another year. That doesn't mean I like it.

Ah you one of those with stereotyped thinking.

Here's the real reason: I need this board as an outlet for my anger, disappointment and frustration. When they win - I'm just quietly happy on my own, I don't have an incentive to come here and post anything.

Now with that issue behind us, do you have any legit objections against what I said in my posts? Or did you want to post an answer that is 100% personal attack on another poster, and noting more?

So is it too soon to say the window is slammed shut on this team? I just have no faith in Jarry as he just seems broken and Pens really have no one else to replace him.

9 series in a row how many years ago?

Since then how many?

Last 3yrs, 1 series win. Like I said, Joel Quenneville won 3 cups in 6yrs and got a shorter leash and he's a legit bona fide hockey Hall of fame coach. Yet here we are, a tiny window and they're scared of firing a coach that isn't getting it done anymore hanging on to what happened 4yrs ago.
I agree to an extent. The problem is I'm not sure we would have even made the playoffs this year without Sullivan.

The regular season means more to me than to others I've noticed. Probably because I don't expect my teams to go far every year in a league that's built to encourage parity so much. How many viable contenders we have this year? Like 8? More?

Winning the division is already a big deal for me, especially with it being the hardest one of the four. I know it's an unpopular view though. Sullivan deserves some respect for that.

I mean you have to make that change if you’re Hexurke and on record saying you’re going to evaluate and make changes depending on what happens in the POs...it’s insanity not to...doing the same thing season after season and not getting better results...not practical to change all the players and it’s clear it’s not one or two players only if we lose this matchup with Trotz again for the whatever # of times and we get the same result after having changed many of the players different years

My issue is less about expecting the Pens to win the Cup every year and being disappointed they didn't, and more with the Pens having a relatively successful regular season only to be swept or lose in a whimper in the playoffs.

No, we can't expect them to win it all every year. But surely we should expect them to win a series here or there, especially when we're the higher seed and, on paper, should have more talent than the team we lose to?

I mean when you come on and troll people about Sid and Letang and Malkin and their “terrible leadership” people are going to call you on your shit. Calling you out when you are wrong isn’t attacking you. I mean Sid, Geno and Letang aren’t perfect but to say that they terrible leaders is just so wrong that you are going to get called out for spouting it. When they did win the cup in ‘16 and ‘17 was it only because of grizzled vets like Kunitz and Cullen?

My goodness they better have nets below every bridge. This is nuts to read after one game haha. Imagine if the players reacted this way after one game.

This is a prime example of everyone these days wanting everything NOW and not willing to put in the work. It doesn't seem like any of you actually enjoy the sport

I think people are too focused on the Trotz thing. It doesn't take a genius tactician to outcoach Sully in the post season recently.

I'm reporting the trolls and hope other people here do too. We deserve better discussion than people telling Mike Sullivan to plug his asshole with Cup rings and get lost because he sucks. This board is going down the tubes with the trolls that are allowed to post here and I'm sick of it. It's not normal criticism and they shouldn't be allowed to post here.

The lose in first round or win cup thing with the Pens still stands.
*Make the Finals, but yeah. Don't think there's a f***ing chance in hell this team beats the likes of Vegas, Colorado, or even really Carolina, Tampa, Florida or Minny.

Three goals should be enough leeway to make up for how big of a sieve the goaltender was. This is playoff hockey against one of the best defensive teams in the league and people are finding excuses for him. I've gone in a time warp to the early 2010s.
The islanders had a power play for 4 mins and generated absolutely shit on it. How did Sorokin ever recover from that disappointment? That's the logic right now.
