If it lets a young player get a chance I’m fine with it.
Unfortunately that feels likelyNoel Acciari and Kevin Hayes are younger.
And Matt Nieto.Noel Acciari and Kevin Hayes are younger.
I liked Eller.
Seems fitting that he goes back where he had success.
Jake Guentzel was a third round pick. This isn't the NFL, an extra 3rd and 5th aren't going to make a difference. If you can't get at least a second why bother.

Actually Pens have historically done pretty well with 3rds. Much better than 2nds.
Letang, too. Also got NHLers with Sundqvist, Bortuzzo and some others. Like I said, 3rd round is our jam for some reason.Weren’t Murray and rust 3rd rounders
The Penguins were really bad in the early to mid 2010s about letting decent players on expiring contracts go for nothing.
Exactly…with Eller gone we should be playing Broz or Pono at 3C, not Acciari lolTrade everyone you can, bring up and play the young guys from wbs to see what you've got, secure a top pick in the draft. Should be the gameplan.
Well I fully expect to start seeing young players filling out the roster.
Right?
Call me naive all you want but this trade feels like them opening up a spot for Poulin.
Lol. You and I both know.Exactly…with Eller gone we should be playing Broz or Pono at 3C, not Acciari lol
They already have, what three times now? We’re going to completely blow up the roster before trying a different coach. Man!
