Dunno what Dubas is doing. The only way this trade makes sense is to either force Sully to play a younger player, or it’s to create cap space for another move.

Or maybe both….
Leading up to a PLD type trade? Dunno.

Anyone who wants competence from the front office

Riding Kindergarten's jock so much

I don't see how saying "I don't care who Dubas trades Lars Eller to if he's getting a decent return for him" is "riding Dubas' jock".

This team sucks. I genuinely couldn't care less about who they trade a 35 year old nobody rental to if they're getting value for him. People won't even remember Lars Eller played for the Penguins in like 2 years, just like people forgot Riley Sheahan played for the Penguins shortly after they moved on from him.

I'd care if they traded someone who meant a lot to the team and their history, but it's Lars Eller.

Lmao literally who in the f*** cares about this

He could trade anyone not named Crosby, Malkin or Letang to the Flyers and I wouldn't give a shit if he was getting value for them.
Yeah at this point who gives a shit anyways. We aren't competing with any of those teams for a playoff spot. And most of our players are garbage

The time to fire Sullivan was more like 5 years ago, now it's way too late.

I mean he should still get fired, but because he sucks not because it would turn things around.

5 years ago bad roster moves was made (at the behest of the mighty coach) and Sullivan was kept, the patient is inoparable at this point.

Yeah, firing Sullivan isn't about fixing things and getting another run outta the core. That ship sailed years ago, probably when Mario didn't switch shit up after the 2020 play-in. If anything, it's more about not having this dork around to ratf*** all the prospects/younger players, demanding that they develop ZAR clone qualities.

You still fire the dude cuz he sucks shit at his job. Have at least a little bit of dignity in that regard, man.

But you should probably keep him for the season so he can keep f***ing things up and this team can land a top-5 pick. Fire his ass April 18th and make him call his own Uber outta there.

Probably Jake Evans lol. Rumored 3 teams interested. And Dubas, Spezza and Kessel were recently at a Habs game.

The best coaches manage to get their talented players to use their talents within the system. Outside of his first few months here and that 1st run, he’s never really been able to do that. Here players are basically expected to leave their hot-shot skills at the door and play within his confines. You lose value playing for him.

Yeah, even knowing when to like, get out of a guy's way and let him do his thing. Sully hasn't been able to do that since he begrudgingly let Kessel play back in the back to backs.

I dunno. I honestly couldn't give a f*** less about the team in the here and now. I just hope he's not kept around for years because he will for sure f*** over prospects.

This team needs to get blown out a couple more times before more trades happen. The deficiencies of this coach need to be drastically exposed to even the mildest mannered of fans and followers. Media and Fans need to turn on Sullivan before management has given up and starts to trade players.

it's probably too late as I'm guessing FSG has given Sullivan the reigns to a rebuild anyways.

Or Dubas starting to slowly trade players that Sullivan overplays ....

I have a feeling Dubas will make a trade for a roster player. Might even use some of the futures we have collected. for example a 3rd+Koivunen/pono for something? And we will all lose our shit.

I can’t wait for when Kyle comes down from his tree house and is asked about the Eller trade and he admits it was done only because Nieto is healthy and we needed a spot.

In the 18yrs we've seen Geno, when the f*** has anyone heard him say regardless?

Lmao

Probably to see what a worse coach than Sullivan looks like to feel better about keeping him around.
Good point.

To me though it reads "the team can play better, but the coaching sucks." Unless that is just wishful projection on my part.
