Their Individual talent and creativity is something that sets them apart. Collectively they're overthinking it and trying to be too precise I'm not sure coaching them up helps TBH. They just have to defer more and shoot the damn puck. They need to simplify. I can't imagine Sully or TR telling them otherwise.

Zero expectations does a lot of heavy lifting. Even as someone who has thought this team signed its death certificate years ago, there's still some level of expectation. And like you said; prospect watching when you (hopefully) have legit premium prospects is cool. Not pretending guys like Puustinen, Poulin or Ty Smith are worth a damn.
Wait, you and others don't seriously think changing the coach changes the direction of this team do you? This team is done, you can bring back Scotty Bowman Circa 1992 and they're still not going to do anything. The coach is not the reason this team sucks. It's the age of this team, and the mindset that trotting out players like Sid and Geno year after year is still going to work. It's not going to work. No matter who the coach is.
Well, he switched up the power play and the results really didn't change all that much except maybe initially. The only thing that he could mandate is sticking Jeff Carter or Doc in front of the net to screen the goalie. That's something that if I were him I would mandate. And he scored a goal. So yeah they should go back to that.
Should be a permanent fixture in the lineup over the shlock that is Carter, White, Harkins, Phillips, Nieto, and probably DOC. I don't think Puustinen is anything more than a whatever borderline AHL guy though. We're all just so damn starved for hunger and fresh legs in the lineup that we immediately gravitate toward anyone who shows a pulse and is under 30.
With this current group yes. I didn't have much faith in this team even going into this year. When we got EK I guess I thought maybe just maybe there was one more kick at the can. Clearly that isn't the case, no this team is done.
