Oh yeah, I don't disagree with that one bit. To be fair to Sid too, I guess, he change with Therrien, he changed with Bylsma, he changed a bit with Johnson, and he's changed a bit with Sullivan. So maybe I'm not being fair enough to the guy but it still makes me wonder how much, if any, pull of the strings he has. For as much as I love this organization (and I always will), it's not like this would be the first time we've had a generational superstar talent here. The org was known as quite the country club when Lemieux was playing. For a personality like Sid, it may be more passively dictator-ish.
Bad leadership if they're making/not making decisions based on what they are told from coaches/players tbh.
It's your job to be objective as a leader in certain situations. If you ask a direct report how they feel about another worker/manager- you might get an emotional response or you might get nothing. That, if anything, should be one grain of sand in your equation. Is Sid/Letang/Geno for that matter gonna dog the coach if asked? I doubt they are even ever asked - if they are it'll be something like 'how do you like the system you play' - 'yeah it's fine'... I mean these guys are geared to straight put up with anything and always say they can do better.
The organization should be taking a look at personnel and coaches and saying - you know what, things need shifting around. Sid/Letang/Geno gonna be mad? Maybe they'll say they didn't want the player moved or the coach fired - but oh well. Sometimes those guys just need decisions made for them and to see how they adjust.
MAF was let go. Just saying. Certain players/coaches should not, ever, be off the table.
