The average age of our forwards is like 60…I have no doubt and actually hope we get a rotating cast of players up from the minors during the season including Poulin, Puusty, Nylander, Zohorna..

Fingers crossed for a notification of "Ruhwedel (PIT) on waivers" from Friedman tomorrow at 11 AM.

would rather waive Shea or Ludvig than Ruhwedel, and I liked Shea more than most. I know we all hate it but a guy that’s willing to sit in the box for league min who doesn’t kill you when he plays is decent to have around.

I wish he wasn’t 3RD and it should be the final season for him though.

lol a guy that's "willing" to sit in the press box for $800k a year. Who otherwise would be making $200-400k to ride the bus in the AHL.

He also does kill you if he has to play more than like 8 games. He was getting walked regularly last year.

You'll almost definitely lose Ludvig to waivers if you waive him. Florida would re-claim him and send them to their own AHL team.

I'd rather waive Ruhwedel, play Shea as the everyday #6 and keep Ludvig as the #7.

We are going to see a very active carousel of players between the A and NHL this season. It wouldn't surprise me to see all of Ruhwedel, Shea, Ludvig, Harkins, Zohorna, Poulin, Puustinen, Nylander, Jonsson and more bouncing between the two clubs and in and out of the lineup.

I’d be down if they had any body else with a pulse that was a righty. I just think the smart move is Shea. He’ll get through too.

For the record, having Ludwig on the team instead of Zohorna drops the average age of the team by roughly 0.2 years.
With Zohorna: 30.4 years
With Ludvig: 30.2 years
:sarcasm:

Ludvig sounds awesome. He's literally exactly what they need if he pans out.

Yeah he sounds like what the Penguins thought they were getting with Conner Hall. I've seen some comparisons to Gudas for him, so I'm really curious to see how he develops.

Ludvig has some pretty major physicality and seems to have at least decent puck skills.

For shits and giggles, where does Ludvig rank in the Penguins prospects? Does he crack their top-5? The current top-5 is Yager, Pickering, Blomqvist, Puustinen and Poulin, but I imagine Poulin would rise to #3 had the poll been done after the pre-season.

I'd say no but I think you can legitimately debate Puustinen and Ludvig for #5. Which just says how much the Penguins prospect pool sucks, but still

I think he might legitimately be the 3rd best skater prospect behind Yager and Pickering. Which is pretty pathetic. But also good.
