Since we are terrible a cap management as usual, we need to get compliant before 5 p.m today. could send a buch of guys down, or put rust on LITR, but that would only solve it temporarely.

But that got me wondering, what is the penallty for NOT being cap compliant? lose a pick? surrender games?
Hopefully lose a few coaches

Looks like cash fines, loss of picks and potential forfeiture of games. I’d imagine the NHL would absolutely hammer the violating team in terms of draft picks, given what happened to Ottawa and AZ for seemingly lesser offenses. Could see 2-3 1sts voided.

I'm 100% on board with that. But I'm not very confident about next season though, it's going to be rough. We need a few impactful trades or UFA signings
Starts with a new coach, but I think they've got a lot of interchangeable pieces as is and will have some cap flexibility. Not at all against re-signing Jake in FA as well.

We'll see what it looks like after today.

I have to think ownership told Dubas they don't want a full on rebuild just yet. Two of the prospects in this deal are likely to be competing for spots on the Pens roster in training camp - I imagine Ponomarev is basically a lock - and Bunting is obviously going to be a roster player. It's not a bad "retool on the fly" type of trade, but I think it may be a little late in the proverbial ballgame for that strategy.

I wouldn't hate re-signing Ned, but I also want to see what Blomqvist looks like in the NHL, so I lean more towards trading Ned if we'll use Blomqvist.
IMO they should let Blomqvist cook another year and then compete for backup minutes following season. Goalies seem to always need time and are up and down. 2 years for Ned would be a nice timeline with that but any more than 2 years or like 2.5M I’m trading him.

You can't rebuild with Crosby/Malkin here and ownership has told us that the whole time. They will again next season attempt to fill out a competitive roster.

If Bunting keeps scoring like he has the past few seasons, 4.5 for a 20+ goal scorer isn't much to be honest. He also becomes another great trade asset for us in 2 years from now on top of what we received.

That is a possibility. And the more I think about, seeing as what this team has done the last few times they’ve had cap space, maybe having less isn’t so bad.

Would mind him seeing a callup this season against a fellow bottom feeder but I'd definitely want him in the AHL for most of next season.

With our own high 2nd and Philly's 2nd at worst, perhaps we could package those to move into the low 1st if Carolina doesn't make the SCF.

If Sullivan is still here, nothing matters and I won't be watching.
Please don't fall into the

"Im leaving the message board if they do this or I'm not watching if they do that group."

There's like 10 people here that have threatened us with that multiple times and yet still here

Your better than that : )

As expected the +'s were underwhelming.
Not sure if i really want Jake back though. It's time to bottom out and suck hard for awhile.
Please trade more out today Kyle and try not to f*** up the returns as much, Thx.

I wouldn't do that. You're better off drafting, say 42+50, than trading those for like #25. Gap between those picks is honestly not that large.
