Agree. The tweet says both IN the deal, doesn't say it is the deal.I’m sure there would also be a prospect with kakko and a first. But I do like kakko, either way.

Kakko + Perrault = Hoglander + Lekkerimaki
Great. Can't wait to see what he does getting 12min a night and 70% D-zone starts.Kakko is not a bottom six caliber player.
We have to remember Jake is a rental and probably won’t sign until FA hits. A young player, first and prospect is a good return. Or screw the pick and get two prospects…which is what I’d rather get.Hoglander+1st would also be an underwhelming return as far as I'm concerned. I'm not opposed to Kakko or Hoglander in the abstract, but considering Guentzel is the premiere piece available at the deadline, I would hope they can get a better return from a contender than "competent player + 1st."

yeah. what we holding on to Smith, Ned, Eller Ruhwedel (if we can get a lat pick) etc for?Absolutely, and that is what it should take for Dubas to pull the trigger.
What I don't understand is why he has not traded ANYBODY else at this point.
Cause Jake moving dictates who’s in on our other players and what Dubas wants back for them. Jake is setting the market for the rest of Dubas’ moves. My two cents anywaysAbsolutely, and that is what it should take for Dubas to pull the trigger.

You sure? He's from Europe, 6'2", and over 200lbs.Nah. Kappo is the type Sullivan plays in the top six even when he doesn't deserve to be there Ala Simon.
We'll have Kappo and DOC in the top six next year just grinding bitches down and scoring a combined 15 goalsNah. Kappo is the type Sullivan plays in the top six even when he doesn't deserve to be there Ala Simon.
kakko, gabe and they can keep their firstI know it's a lunacy price to ask, but I still want Othmann even if Kakko is coming back. Kakko is a reclamation project right now IMO, they still need a great asset coming in the deal.
Kakko, Othmann and a 2024 1st for Guentzel is an insane price for the Rangers to pay, but that's what I'd demand.
better!Kakko + Perrault = Hoglander + Lekkerimaki
that would be fine, i'm easyI have absolutely no faith in Sullivan getting anything out of Kakko. Give me one of the Rags good prospects instead

I hope Dubas moves out as many players as possible and we come out with a hugely different roster next year.I'll take Kappo on Sid's line over DOC any day.
For what it's worth.
But this all SHOULD be the FIRST step towards a better future. Not the ultimate step. Should still be selling off pieces for other futures/draft capital and rebuilding the team over the Summer. My hope is that this team somehow gets Kadri NLT than the start of next season. Or some other 2C we haven't thought of.
People keep mentioning Ruhwedel as if we wouldn't have to give up a pick to make some other team take his crusty ass.yeah. what we holding on to Smith, Ned, Eller Ruhwedel (if we can get a lat pick) etc for?
Im almost afriad we win tonight and they get delusional about us having a chance on the PO and call off the selling, including Jake.
I feel like dealing Smith will be like acquiring Granlund last year. It will just materialize seemingly out of nowhere.according to Chris Johnston, the Pens have to trade Reilly Smith FIRST if they want a team to retain 50% on a Guentzel trade. We don't have the cap space, otherwise.
Interesting, I had not heard that before. Makes the fact Smith is still here even more puzzling to me.
… what? Why would they need thataccording to Chris Johnston, the Pens have to trade Reilly Smith FIRST if they want a team to retain 50% on a Guentzel trade. We don't have the cap space, otherwise.

He’ll still be here to get his mitts on the prospect too lolI have absolutely no faith in Sullivan getting anything out of Kakko. Give me one of the Rags good prospects instead
That's my hope.It would he pretty funny for us to do what Clarke/Fletcher/Philly failed to do with Giroux (who was open to re-signing, but they shut the door on him).
Imagine a haul like Tippett+1st+whatever AND having Jake re-sign.
