If we take that package and apply it elsewhere:

Kakko + Othmann
Kakko > Hoglander
Lekkerimaki > Othmann

Necas + Koivunen
Necas >>> Hoglander
Lekkerimaki >>> Koivunen

I think Smith at 50% should get more than that. A 50 point winger that is playoff proven at 2.5MM is a very attractive piece.

Aren't their only two retention spots avail and one goes to petry. So 1. They will not offer retention on smith till Jake is traded because retention on him is priority 1 if it is needed to bring back the best return. 2. Do we want to be losing 2.5 mil next season for smiths retention to maybe get a 4th added to a deal?

Good. They don't pay this, tell them to pound sand.

I think it's the other GMs telling Dubas to pound sand, and Dubas sitting around with his pouty face on which is why he hasn't done -anything- yet despite having a half dozen players that could be dealt in order to help this team moving forward.

Lol, we do.

Price is high. THAT return makes sense to move Guentzel.

Or...he's reading HF and reporting that. Which wouldn't be the first time a "journalist" has done that.
Isnt that all Kan Dingirski ever does since he knows shit all about f*** and nobody likes him?

Another of my favorite things during TDL time is when 'insiders' are on the tweet box sharing information that is speculative at best and almost certainly each teams' FO negotiating through media and how it leads directly to fans of Team A or B or C being personally offended at the rumor.

I am absolutely stunned that you believe this. You're always such an optimistic and uplifting poster!

A half dozen guys who won't net much. He has to get a deal with Jake right.

Here’s the thing: Dubas isn’t getting this for Jake and he’s not getting Nikishin lol…so if he doesn’t move a little, Jake won’t be traded…

I think the idea of not trading in your division is such an antiquated one. If a division rival is giving you an A+ package and all other packages are B- at best, you'd be stupid not to take the division rival's offer.

The only exception would be in a case where you're maybe trading a franchise-level player (ie. if Sid wanted out when he was 25 years old) and you don't want that terrorizing you for the next decade+.

Teams have 3 retention slots, but that scarcity is why I would demand a premium to use one of them for multiple years.

Kyle Dubas has to be calculated here. I'm not worried about any timing. Teams want Jake.

He has to make sure he gets the best ready now prospects he can, not so much the best prospect.

He isn't giving up on this core yet

Good to know, thanks, don't know why I thought it was only 2.
It's scary to think that between j.js buy out, petry and possibly smith retentions we could be short 5 mil to start the off-season ...
