What an awful day for those out west not named Vegas. I can't see anyone beating them if they are “healthy” come playoff time.
Again, I think the plan to try to sign Neds. Or if they still want to push for the playoffs, they still need the solid backup.I don’t understand not trading Nedjelkovic but I completely understand not trading Smith. Prices stunk and you still have him for next year, flip him when the return would be better. They paid a 3rd for him, eating half of his deal only to get a 3rd back would be awful.
Overall, it’s fascinating how low prices were at the deadline. Look at the Hertl deal, that seems insanely cheap for the caliber of player he is. Hard to get too critical about the Guentzel deal at this point after seeing the rest of the deals at the deadline.
They got a pick and a prospect (Vegas' 32OV from last year).Sharks got what they needed in a Hertl deal, which was a ton of picks and a prospect. I don't think Kyle did a bad job at all with Guentzel. In Hertl's case - he isn't some bloke making it hard to re-sign him.
A key part in Dubas' presser is that they approached Guentzel in the off season and they didn't want to engage in Jake's camp. So really, Guentzel never planned to re-sign with the Penguins at all and Crosby being all sad about it means jack a shit when a bloke doesn't want to stay and has maintained it all season.
I hope Sullivan just completely shits the bed the rest of the way and makes it nearly impossible to keep after the season, like so bad that it's repeatedly mentioned by every hockey analyst that Sullivan should be on the hot seat and they fire his ass at the end of the season. Can't wait to see Sullivan's tactial genius next season:
1 scoring line with the Two-Headed Dragon
3 Turtle lines...
Seems like people would rather have less now for Eller and Smith than next year just so you can say something happened. That’s mismanagement.
But a lot of stuff was reported that just turned out to be blatantly untrue. Also look at the prices of players that went today. How do you know Eller is bringing back more than Zucker? Because maybe according to reporters teams asked about him?Because it was reported that teams were asking. Eller's having a good year, there was interest, and honestly, why keep him as 3C? Why not move him so we can evaluate what we got or who we have in WB/S?
What would you have him do? Trade Smith for a 3rd and retain 50%? That's just dumb obviously there wasn't crap out there as you can see by all of the trades that happened nobody got rich. I don't like him either but, it's not like it matters what happens at the deadline when contenders don't want to give anything for someone who isn't producing. Retool will happen in the off season hopefully. You didn't really believe it was happening today did you???This org has been patient since like 2020… come on lol Dubas can’t say he’s trying a fast retool and barely make a move.

They gave up Hertl, 2 3rd's, and ate 17% of the contract for 7 years.
And another thing is that Koivunen will be connecting with former teammate Joel Blomquist who toiled in Wilkes-Barre-Scranton and looks to be the heir apparent to Jarry when the time comesThe Fin intrigues me. He went from 28 points last season to 55 points this season, albeit in 5 more games in the finnish elite league but it's a noticeable improvement from 19 to 20.
I honestly don't care what Eller's value is because I don't think a shut-down 3C has any value on this team as is. What is the point of keeping Eller? So we can run the same losing system and play ineffectual Sullivan hockey? But a lot of stuff was reported that just turned out to be blatantly untrue. Also look at the prices of players that went today. How do you know Eller is bringing back more than Zucker? Because maybe according to reporters teams asked about him?
Hertl wasn't having the best season, has knee injury issues and is currently injured at the moment with, wait for it.....knee issues.I don’t understand not trading Nedjelkovic but I completely understand not trading Smith. Well he's young and the Pens need a serious infusion of youth at ELC with all the Greybeards haling a lot of cash! Not sure if Koivunen will ever be a top 6 forward but has the potential
See for yourself
And the thing with Koivunen is he's signed and has progressed all 3 years since he was drafted in the 2nd Round by Carolina in 2021. Is he ready for the NHL? That's the question?ville koivunen - Suchen Videos

nobody is interested in Eller this year or next lol
He'll poke around in July/Aug. I think the issue was, he looked f***ing gassed halfway through a workout in Vancouver a couple of days ago. Of what practical use was he going to be?I have to imagine this is it for Kessel, no?
