You might as well keep Smith at that point and hope he turns it around a bit.Did you expect Dubas to suddenly be able to move all the horrible ass deals he signed this summer?

Speaking at 3pm says to me that he's anticipating having everything done by then, if it's not already done. /shrugNot until he unloads the garbage
When we compare it to some of the trades made this week, KD did not do bad at all to be honest. Had we not heard Morrow or Blake's name, some of you wouldn't have acted this way. They're still excellent prospects and all of them are having fantastic seasonsI suppose I see the rationale in spray and pray strats. Even the Canes' best prospects are still prospects and it's a crapshoot. But man, what an underwhelming return on paper. Doubt it looks better in reality down the road either.
Here: The Devil because Mike Sullivan likes him.how bad is ruhwedal
The more I think about it, the more that bothers me.
Dubas seemed to go "quantity over quality". I think I would have rather him done a 1 for 1 where it was Jake for a 1st or Jake for a top prospect rather than getting quantity but nothing that's great.
Those prospects don't do us much good in our quest to get young if the likes of Nieto, Acciari, and Eller are on the team though.
Simultaneously the most boring, do-nothing 7th d-man you've ever seen, while also somehow committing glaring gaffes near nightly.how bad is ruhwedal

Un spectacular 7th Dman. Not as bad as you will read on here. Now if you want Graves as well he is Ray Bourque without the physicality. We could probably do a 4th and 5th for the pair.how bad is ruhwedal
Such a cute "phrase" - "has no plan".Yes. Kyle Dubas has no plan as I've tried to tell you all for the last 9 months.
Such a cute "phrase" - "has no plan".
What should his plan look like? Legit spell it out "He should do this, then that, and then this." Use big boy words not "He should trade crappy prospects for impact wings on good deals".
As I usually say, name names.
If you don't, you're just whining.
They are in no way excellent prospects, my dude. When we compare it to some of the trades made this week, KD did not do bad at all to be honest. I don't agree with the "reality" part. I don't think he's a guy you want on your third pairing as a regular. His ideal role is as the 7th or 8th who can fill in adequately for short periods of time on the third pairing. But if he's your permanent 3rd pairing guy, you've got a shitty third pairing. Here: The Devil because Mike Sullivan likes him.
Reality: Average 3rd pairing RD who is a solid depth pickup piece for the playoffs. It's a good deal.
Oh good, then it should be easy. Have at it.I named names the entire offseason of what he should do.
It must be really hard to get paid 45 million dollars to botch every decision you make.
A good start would be getting rid of the coaching staffSuch a cute "phrase" - "has no plan".

Yeah I’m not sure why people think we’re selling. Dubas wanted to get younger and still compete. It’s a mid flight rebuild that never ends up working but he’s been pretty transparent about it. I would be surprised if that’s not what he says at 3.They aren't moving these players.
Dubas thinks Eller, Acciari and Reilly Smith are good. That's why he gave or acquired them with term.
He just traded Jake Guentzel for Bunting with term because he thinks this team can compete.
He acquired prospects that the team thinks can help within the next year or two.
This team isn't selling.

This could be the one time the Pens actually DON'T keep a guy well past their prime and have to beg someone to take him in three yearsI don't want Guentzel back. He's a great player and I'll miss watching him, but he should be playing on (and getting paid by) a contending team and that ain't the Pens.
