Let's Go Pens
The Kings need a goalie big time, KD should be all over that situation cause I would think if Calgary was to move Markstrom, they would prefer shipping him East and not to LA.
Yeah I mean they should tank next year. They sucked with Guentzel. The best thing for this team (outside of landing Celebrini) is losing the SJ pick this year because next year is gonna be rough.
You say this, then say "His chemistry and fit in Pittsburgh will be near impossible to replace". So, it is exceptionally unlikely we replace him. You're talking semantics. That’s not what I said. You said irreplaceable. I’m not saying it’ll be easy. His chemistry and fit in Pittsburgh will be near impossible to replace because his hockey IQ was savant level and he fit well with Crosby and Malkin. But I don’t think the individual talent level will be impossible to replace. 87 and 71 won’t be here forever for him to mesh with.
Jake is good but he is absolutely the type of player more valuable to an already contending team. Type of player you add to an already good roster to be your 3rd-4th gun rather than build around at 29-30 years old.
Yeah I would say so. Just think I’d rather give up pick 8-11 in what looks like a kinda down draft vs fully chasing a top 3 pick in 2025.There's a pretty big chance they'll both be mid-lottery picks, no?
There is a less than 0% chance they try to chase a top 3 pick next year. Kyle was hired to give Sid one last run. They'll re-tool in the summer and hopefully fire Sully. Tanking this season and going for it next year si 100% the move.Yeah I would say so. Just think I’d rather give up pick 8-11 in what looks like a kinda down draft vs fully chasing a top 3 pick in 2025.
Who the hell knows though
Oh, gotcha.Yeah I would say so. Just think I’d rather give up pick 8-11 in what looks like a kinda down draft vs fully chasing a top 3 pick in 2025.
Who the hell knows though
Who is slow? A scouting report on skating being a weakness isn’t the same. Elias Pettersson is a weak skater, he’s not slowI, for one, am not a fan of a small, slow old team targeting small, slow prospects.
Dude this is sports. No one is irreplaceable. You’re acting like we moved prime Brady or Jordan. This is not even close to trading 29 y/o Sid or Malkin. This is not even close to trading prime Eichel. You say this, then say "His chemistry and fit in Pittsburgh will be near impossible to replace". So, it is exceptionally unlikely we replace him. You're talking semantics.
This team is not going to burn it down and cash in lotto picks while the core is here. The org has said that. So they need to try to put together a winner, but they've just handicapped their ability to do that and added nothing of significant value now or later.
There's a reason why every single article on the trade is about how Waddell took Dubas to the cleaners.
You were literally fighting Canuck fans on the main board saying they would do better then the Hall trade
Weak or slow, neither is what this team needs.Who is slow? A scouting report on skating being a weakness isn’t the same. Elias Pettersson is a weak skater, he’s not slow
Jake_turkey.jpgSo Jake will start taking Coke...... Nice...
Who gives a shit? I was wrong with what I expected for Guentzel. That doesn’t make this deal bad.
I think his hands are pretty tied. It's what ownership wants.I think a lot of people are missing that Dubas’s goal is to reload not rebuild. I believe he think Bunting and the C prospect helps us do that next season.
Its not the way id have gone about it but…
You're either mischaracterizing or misunderstanding what I'm saying.Dude this is sports. No one is irreplaceable. You’re acting like we moved prime Brady or Jordan. This is not even close to trading 29 y/o Sid or Malkin. This is not even close to trading prime Eichel.
This is like if Jets fans were losing their minds over moving an expiring Ehlers. Guentzel is awesome but he’s not a superstar. We’ll have to agree to disagree.
In the highlights I saw, he reminds me of a hybrid of J. Jokinen and Kovalev. He's ''nifty''.Koivunen reminds me, and people won't like this, of Granlund.
