Rossi with an update that's sure to thrill everyone:

Cliff notes:
Sullivan got reassurance from Dubas that he's relatively safe and Dubas doesn't blame Sullivan for team's performance this year.

Smith is absolutely on the trade block, ideally in a true hockey trade.

Dubas doesn't think Graves has a market, so hope is he will rebound lower in the lineup.

Jarry isn't necessarily being shopped, but there is a sense around the league that he's available in right move.

Crosby deal isn't likely to be all that challenging. Matter of when, not if.

Bourque might become primary TV analyst with more changes to radio broadcasts.

Hard to give a shit about a team that has been so mismanaged for so long at this point.

To be fair, Colby is brutal and Rupp is meh at the moment.

You aren't wrong. I thought those two were going to be a lot better, especially Rupp.

Meh. It's a somewhat-nothing thing to complain about. But man this team feels kinda low-rent and very unserious these days. Even their broadcast team is a big collection of whatever.

I think Rupp can be okay with more experience. Hard to describe, its not a stutter, he just seems kind of gun shy during the broadcast. I wonder if hes just struggling a bit making the jump to live action as opposed to breaking stuff down during intermissions or on NHLN.

Between his mush mouth and his store brand spittin chiclets sense of humor, Colby is an immediate mute for me. I guess the org wants a total stooge who refuses to say anything negative, so Bourque is the obvious choice.

I'd like this twice if I could.

Bourque is such a meathead sycophant. But he's still somehow better at his job than the other two.

Not much going right these days lol

OK point taken... it's always been bad (Lange aside).

I still think it was dumb to have Errey be the only guy to fall on his sword, though.

I liked Errey.

The only guy who is an instant mute for me is Olczyck

Honestly one of the best moments he had on TV

Yeah the silence afterwards and then he explains the joke…. It’s hilarious.

Wanting to move Smith out in a hockey trade while also wanting to see Graves rebounding lower in the lineup seems to give an obvious solution to me: Smith for an expensive 2nd pair LD.

I'm not exactly sure who fits that, but I think it makes a lot of sense if they could pull it off.

Swaps for a player with 1-2 years left on their current contract. Then you see in a year or two if Pickering is ready or if Graves has gotten it together.

I'll never understand how Pens fans can dump on all these mid broadcasters they've had to endure and then put Lange on a pedestal. "Michael Michael Motorcycle" is an idiotic thing to even consider saying. And how many times did he shoehorn that into a broadcast? Over 100? "Takes the heat out of a hot kitchen" every. single. time. the D zone is cleared? Terrible and uncreative.

The corny phrases were secondary to me. Lange called a clean, informative and unbiased game. He was clearly an extremely devoted Penguins fan but didn't pull his punches when they were playing poorly. I actually understand how his phrases weren't for everyone but that wasn't the appeal at least to me when it came to Lange as the PBP guy. He was just... really good at his job and more than anything a huge advocate of the game and not JUST the team.

The power move will be to bring in a AC that is HC capable to put pressure on Sullivan.

Smith out is a no brainer with several options (or theories on how to proceed) so no surprise that.

If you're moving Graves out, you're taking an equally bad contract back. The best thing for us is to hope he plays better next year. It's the risk in giving guys 6 year deals.

If the NJD want to play ball and want to look at Jarry, there are a TON of trade options that's would benefit us. The goalie market is better this year than in previous years so finding that shorter term goalie might be a decent option for us if we get back a quality asset. I could see something like 10ov+Daws/Schmid for Jarry+44ov. At 10ov, you're looking at Catton, Helenius, Dickenson (maybe), Eisermann, Silayev - all high end guys that bolster our prospect pool.

I want Errey back. He's better than Bourque, Army, and Rupper. I like Bourque and he's obviously smart but he just screams crotchety old man. Army isn't that polished and neither is Rupper. Errey was great. I really liked him. Of all things that needed to be changed, I didn't think the play-by-play was one of them. Thought Mears and Errey were just fine. I can see the lure of Army and Rupp though. Recent Penguin players that aren't terrible but have the ability to relate to newer fans more. You ain't gonna see Bourque or Errey on Spittin Chicklets anytime soon.
I wish I could go to work for the last six straight years and every week I'd like... take a giant shit in the copier, tip the water cooler over into some old lady's desk, try to flush the coffee machine down the toilet and flood the bathrooms and get hammered drunk at lunch and send hog pics to every important client we have and my boss swings past my desk once a year to tell me I'm doing a whiz bang job out there and not to worry about a thing because this is clearly all the quiet foreign guy's fault who keeps to himself in the corner desk.

Actually I don't wish that... that would be weird. But you get what I mean.
You just described half the workforce in this country, though.

Ever take a random amount of money and look across Zillow to see what you could afford in different parts of the country. I don't really want to live in Kentucky, but I just found a beautiful new 2k sqft 4bd/3ba home on two acres with a natural pond outside of Lexington. It wouldn't even be a lateral move financially. I'd be saving money over my 800 sqft condo in Reno.
Pittsburgh area isn't that much more than Kentucky (though it has gone up a bit in more recent years).

When I moved back to the area from Silicon Valley, I went from a 1ksq ft, 2bed/1bath apartment to a 3k+sq ft, 4bed/3bath home on two acres of woodland with a stream running through the property, and I'm basically paying the same for my mortgage that I used to pay for rent
