Yeah because old people go to die in Florida.
Plenty used to go to Arizona. SoCal has just as nice of weather but...

We should also clarify that no one willingly moves to the panhandle to areas like Pensacola. If you're going to Florida, it's Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, or Miami/FL.

I really like our new AHL signings, some young blood with some ability to get us out of the chair talent.

LOL, nobody in their right mind is moving to Orlando or even most of its suburbs -- and the migration data backs that up. Jacksonville (Duval County) is no great destination either though at least its adjacent areas are nice. Most of the counties adjacent to Orlando used to be nice but now those who are leaving outnumber those who are moving in.

OTOH, places like Santa Rosa County and Walton County in the panhandle have migration rates that are off the charts, but they are still well off the beaten path and I can understand why some folks might not find them to be as exciting as a ghetto area.

As a Canadian, if I won 50M I'd move to Pinecrest, FL. If my work asked me to move to Dallas and say yes without hesitation. Any city outside of Florida or Dallas I would have to think about.

I was gonna say, I thought people liked the southern Jacksonville area. It's been forever since I've been. I probably wouldn't recognize it.

On the panhandle, I was just making a joke about the Mobile/P-Cola area because I'm an ex-Navy guy.

If I magically had 50M dollars. I’d build something in the Pennsylvania or West Virginia mountains in Appalachia. At the highest altitude I could get a decent size portion of property. Build a road in. Tell everyone in the world they are free to visit anytime they want but don’t expect me to ever come to you. And just chill out staring at a valley/down range for the rest my life sipping on whiskey playing music at annoyingly loud volume.

I mean, I'm sure it gets Dubas laughed at and hung up on, but I'd easily trade Jarry+Pickering+44th for the Devils' 1st rounder.

just the illegal ones. but if you like giving your money to support other people, then you can always send it to me.
edit; i will let you know when i get the first check.
Yeah totally. f*** other people!

I can't tell you how many of my friends and family have lost their sub-minimum wage fruit picking and dishwashing jobs to immigrants in the past. It's gotta be in the hundreds.

Rossi with an update that's sure to thrill everyone:

Cliff notes:
Sullivan got reassurance from Dubas that he's relatively safe and Dubas doesn't blame Sullivan for team's performance this year.

Smith is absolutely on the trade block, ideally in a true hockey trade.

Dubas doesn't think Graves has a market, so hope is he will rebound lower in the lineup.

Jarry isn't necessarily being shopped, but there is a sense around the league that he's available in right move.

Crosby deal isn't likely to be all that challenging. Matter of when, not if.

Bourque might become primary TV analyst with more changes to radio broadcasts.

Sullivan stuff aside... which at this point I'm completely resigned to... they seriously took a look at Bourque's work last year and were like "Yes. More of that, please."

I wish I could go to work for the last six straight years and every week I'd like... take a giant shit in the copier, tip the water cooler over into some old lady's desk, try to flush the coffee machine down the toilet and flood the bathrooms and get hammered drunk at lunch and send hog pics to every important client we have and my boss swings past my desk once a year to tell me I'm doing a whiz bang job out there and not to worry about a thing because this is clearly all the quiet foreign guy's fault who keeps to himself in the corner desk.

Actually I don't wish that... that would be weird. But you get what I mean.

Dubas should have given me a call to discuss Sully's status before speaking with the media.
