Getting rid of Errey would be a mistake
I am not buying there was a bidding war on a Mikael Granlund with zero retentionI see it two ways. Either Nashville didn’t want to move him and we had to overpay, in which case Nashville would be happy to take him back even if it’s for nothing, or Nashville was actively trying to move him and the bidding reached a 2nd (from a bubble team), in which case it’s not lower than a 3rd in the offseason because, yes, he played poorly, but also the possible destinations doubles in the summer (because EVERYONE is building a playoff-hopeful team).
I think the truth is the latter. Nashville is doing a rebuild on the fly and even might’ve accepted less just to move Granlund quickly at the deadline rather than wait for the summer. We might have to wait too, like until after free agency and the teams losing out o Zucker or Barbashev have to settle for Granlund.
My guess is the Pens FO liked him so much they contacted Nashville and Nash said they’d do it for a 2nd and Hextall said ok. I don’t think it was anything more than that…I doubt given the incompetence of our FO that they even tried to negotiate down, especially on the cap hitI am not buying there was a bidding war on a Mikael Granlund with zero retention
It is if you are going to completely rebuild. But they still have this delusion they can compete with this groupYeah and $3 million in dead cap space with a league minimum player sounds better than spending that money on Carter.
We don’t have a second. That was used to get him in the first place.Ive traded him w a second round pick and signed Compher for$5M per
For this year. It jumps up to $1.8 the next three seasons. That’s not good cap management. We can buy our Granlund and it’ll cost 800k
Second in 2024 or2025 thenIt is if you are going to completely rebuild. But they still have this delusion they can compete with this group

Yohe doesn't have a clue what goes on with the Pens' GM. Now he's claiming to have knowledge about other GMs.According to Yohe, I know, a couple GMs laughed when they saw the deal.
@dogthateats @Better Call Maul do you guys have plans for next season?I can’t stand Mears’ nonstop positive-spin meaningless statistics. I think they should take someone from HF to broadcast and inject a dose of realism and truth.
I imagine many around the league laughed at that trade. It worked out worse than many anticipated.Yohe doesn't have a clue what goes on with the Pens' GM. Now he's claiming to have knowledge about other GMs.
Bull.
I can see @Better Call Maul pulling a "Yeah X is flying right now but do you know about his tweets in 2017 when he was 10?"@dogthateats @Better Call Maul do you guys have plans for next season?
Oman.......
I understand this sentiment. As someone who listens to the vast majority of games on both. This is great news!!!!!!!
For those of us who listen to radio broadcasts of Penguin games.
Because whoever replaces them can't possibly be any worse, I don't care if it's a combo of Jack Edwards and Bill Hillgrove.
My condolences in advance to those watching future Penguin games with the TV sound unmuted.
Errey is light years better than Bourque.
Oman.......
