Dupuis had no hands, but his shot was way better than DOC lol.

DOC reminds me of McCann before he broke out more than anyone.
I'm not really sure who DOC reminds me of. Even with McCann, you could see he had a killer shot, and it was just a matter of putting things together.

Maybe Fehr? But like, 30+ year old Fehr posting like 15-20pts. Not when he was a 35pt guy.

The weirdo, undeserved fascination with DOC is Tangradi-like, for sure. DOC's better than Tangradi was (not by much) though that bar is f***in' REEEEEEAL low to clear. Dude had 16pts in 150 career games.
Well DOC is played more here than Tangradi ever was so he’s going to put up more points but not many more lol…11 points in 46 games last season sucks…both big guys who people expected more of because they put up a lot of points in the AHL but they’re really borderline NHL players…I’m glad Sullivan is pumping DOC up to be the next big savior on L2 but he won’t be because he’s just not that good

This whole convo is just a long way to say DOC f***in' sucks.

Yeah. Tangradi is a good comparison, has the tools but suddenly lacks speed and physicality against nhl quality players because he can’t keep up with the play.

McCann you could see that he was just making overly careful decisions, especially at centre, but he could always keep up.

Carter and Hinostroza have practically the same stats. Similar possession stats, similar xGF, similar high danger stats, similar deployment.

Hinostroza's only difference is he's fast.

If the result is the same, then their style of play being different doesn't matter.

Drew is going to fix Geno’s line lol….by the same rationale, why not keep him with Sid if you think he did so well and play Rust on L2? Wanker…

To be fair, I don't think he's wrong in his statement. If DOC clicks there, you have the option to put Rakell on L3 when he returns. He's a smart player, and I think we might be surprised how well he meshes with Eller who is also quite the smart player.

Having said all of the above, would I love to see Rust sit on Malkin's hip for a bit? Of course I would, I've been asking for it forever. But we all know that's not going to happen, so no use fantasizing about it.

Is it really that simple?

Sidenote: Carter looks like he is on a sunday skate with the retirement-home population most shifts.

So any other player that signals passion and hunger is going to rub of better on the rest of the team!

I love how Carter's got that beer leaguer, end of the shift, standing straight up posture from the second he hits the ice for his shift until he plods to the bench to change. Dude's so f***ing cooked, it's unbelievable.

The Carter debate is frustrating because there is literally no need to have it. There is zero reason Carter should be playing another game for this team, unless they literally can't call anyone else up. Hinostroza was playing terrible before he was scratched and he should be scratched, but that doesn't mean you have to play Carter.

Especially after sending Nylander down, you have an open roster spot and the money to call someone else up. Call up Gruden and give him a shot on the 4th line over playing Carter there. Sullivan needs to both not play players who are making bad mistakes and not playing well, but also not play Carter because Carter is trash.

I think Hinostroza should be scratched or even sent down, but the decision to just play Carter instead is an an unacceptable one.

Hinostroza has higher upside by virtue of not being a million years old

I think if we plopped my grandad on the ice, he would look better than Carter, well at least no worse, and he’s dead…

Honestly, it feels like saying, "I prefer this crappy car because it's blue instead of that crappy car which is white and shows dirt and dents more."

They both suck.

The Pens need someone to seize the moment here and not suck so that Hinostroza and Carter are both out of the lineup. In the meantime, who cares?

Hinostroza running around at full speed but with no purpose and no effectiveness isn't going to rub off at all.

The coach usually likes fast ineffective players like DOC, hence it’s unusual that Hino has been scratched lol

No GDT yet so I’m putting this here…we’re down more bodies …not an optional skate either…Koppanen recalled but it’s not for Harkins unfortunately…from Taylor:

“No sign of Noel Acciari or Matt Nieto as the skate gets underway. Mike Sullivan is out there, so this is a full skate, not optional.

Here are the lines and pairings:

Jake Guentzel - Sidney Crosby - Bryan Rust
Reilly Smith - Evgeni Malkin - Drew O'Connor
Radim Zohorna - Lars Eller - Vinnie Hinostroza
Jansen Harkins - Joona Koppanen - Jeff Carter

Ryan Graves - Kris Letang
Marcus Pettersson - Erik Karlsson
Ryan Shea - John Ludvig

Also from Taylor lol…quick, don’t tell Geno..Kunitz should suit up for us…can’t be worse than Carter and we haven’t won a Cup without him…he needs a fifth Cup lol

• Chris Kunitz and Craig Adams are here watching the skate. Interesting. Kunitz is a player development advisor for the Blackhawks. Not sure what Adams is up to these days, he doesn't work for a team or anything.

Of course. Right as Acciari has been finding his stride and getting comfortable, he gets injured.

Great. One of the only 2 non-marshmallows on the team is hurt. All we need now is for Ludvig to be replaced by POJ (that better never happen) and we can officially ice the softest 18-man lineup in the history of the NHL.

That’s what being physical does for you, especially over age 30…why do you think Sid and Geno have been able to play so many games the last year+ lol
