don't blame you for this cause its friggin narrative that percolates hockey world in pittsburgh from media, fans, and probably coaches...Geno does not need defensive forward as much as this team needs defensive structure...Sid is 2.6 GA/60, how come no one is talking about Sid needed defensive forward Geno is at 2.5 GA/60. Eller at 1.95 GA/60 or warior Acciari who is 2.1 GA/60 Do they need defensive forwards? What Geno needs and this team need is structure, forwards coming back and tracking, pressing the point, and coming together as a group out of our zone in a fashion that resembles three-four guys that may have skated together once or twice. What Geno needs is offensive help, a legit play driver on L2 to create more opportunities and boost the offense to move them above current misarable 2.7 GF/60 more towards Sid's 3.9 GF/60 thats (these are 5 on 5 numbers)...thats what we need but whatever...Guentzel - Crosby - Puus
OC - Malkin - Accari
Rakell - Eller - Rust
Hark - Carter - White
Malkin absolutely needs a defensively responsible forward
admit, you were loving it, every second of itCrosby and Malkin each had sick redirect goals against Phoenix. Malkin's was even on his backhand

I dunno, I just had to process an extension for a student because a missile strike vaporized the family apartment so I feel people getting mad at this team is pretty much dumb as hell.
Yinz played yourselves by thinking it was going to be any other way. Congratulations.
I watch but the past two years it hasn't been uncommon for me to only half pay attention to them while doing something else. Hard to be glued to the TV when they're so mediocre.Yeah I still check the scores and get updates, but I figure the games just look mostly identical game after game. I’ll start watching again closer to the trade deadline probably, but I just feel like I’m not missing anything at this point.
Way easier to not get mad about the Penguins when you only see the scores.
It doesn't matter if Geno has structure. He either won't or is unable to follow it.don't blame you for this cause its friggin narrative that percolates hockey world in pittsburgh from media, fans, and probably coaches...Geno does not need defensive forward as much as this team needs defensive structure...Sid is 2.6 GA/60, how come no one is talking about Sid needed defensive forward Geno is at 2.5 GA/60. What did Sully say that was “dropping shade” on Geno? Haven’t been paying much attention today…You don’t force Geno to change his game. It’s not going to happen. He can make small adjustments game to game and dial
It back a bit, but expecting him to transform his game is idiotic.
Coaching or management is dumb as rocks if they can’t figure out how to handle that. You either help him out a bit or suffer. White and DOC aren’t the solution.
If Geno wants to, he can get sully fired because of his NMC. If sully keeps dropping shade to media it’ll happen. Geno too nice though, for now.
O damn. Looks like I missed one. *Hits ignore*It doesn't matter if Geno has structure. He either won't or is unable to follow it.
It's probably because almost every hockey player calls Sid the best two hundred foot player in the world still but, what do his peers know?
If you watch ANY game Malkin constantly does a fly by or takes a lazy stick penalty in the d-zone. Malkin is supposed to be the offensive driver on his line is he not? Not sure who else you want to try with him. He's had everyone but, Jake. I have watched all but, one game this year. Malkin needs someone to cover his a$$ constantly. Maybe the narrative is correct this time.
I'll be honest, a big part of my frustration is the complete unwillingness to try a coaching change. It's not the state of the team, but the fact that a (potential) solution is an option this organization refuses to look at.As much as I’m here to whine about the Pens, I can’t imagine how bad all the other Metro teams hfboards professional pessimists must feel about their similar mediocrity given we’ve at least got 3 cups with this core.

I doubt Malkin or any player not named Crosby can get Sullivan fired.
And Crosby loves Sullivan, unfortunately.
With their play. Not saying something.

There's no bigger critic of Malkin than Malkin. Not even the guy above you, there.
Him trying to play the coach off the team will just lead to him getting shamed hard enough that he throws his hands up and waives for a trade. Sullivan easily wins the Malkin vs Sullivan battle IMO.
Sully can’t win that battle. That said Geno won’t do that, so why not try to help the guy out by setting with what he needs for that. Either by coaching change or trades.

I don't see Malkin intentionally tanking his play like Crosby did under Johnston late. The payoff on the other side of the coaching change isn't good enough to where it's worth him Sullying (pun semi-intended) his perception in his late career.

I mean you have posters here saying Malkin's a net negative every game, and I'm just a passing critic at times.
But sorry to invade your Geno persecution/inferiority complex safe space as always.
Buddy I really don't care anymore. I just think it's way over the top.
Passing critic is an interesting turn of phrase. Was that what all that unhinged ranting last night was?
What unhinged ranting?
That you like Malkin more than you like the Pens?
You may know in your heart it's not true but 80% of your posts here are pre-emptively defending Malkin and pre-emptively making fun of people who would criticize Malkin.
So my perception of you is rightly that Malkin is more important than the Pens, for you.
