I would say 80% of my posts are wondering what in the world this team is doing in general but whatever. I make no secret that dude was my favorite player to watch on this team for years because I dig how he approaches the game. What are you a fan of? Strutting around picking fights over the exact same thing you're trying to drag me for but on the other end?

Wouldn't toss too many stones, bud.

You tossed the first one.

Just, when Geno can't receive a 10 foot backhand pass and it goes in his own net, how about your first thought isn't "better post to pre-emptively make fun of the Malkin critics."

I guess that's a stone from me. I'll stop now.

No you won't. So I have a better idea... just ignore me.

I like your writing style. Even when I'm catching strays. You can exercise your heckler's veto, though I hate for it to come to that.

I want Geno to turn it around badly. I will accept being made fun of on this board because I love Geno and it would benefit the Penguins greatly. It's not likely to happen with Colin White, but if the powerplay gets sorted Geno will get right.

Because they don't give a shit? Probably didn't want him back from the start.

Sully should care.

He’s my favorite player as well. Unique playing style. I just find it annoying when it’s clear he needs help on his line, and coaching media prefers to throw shade. I am fairly? Confident Dubas will fix that line.

This may be the first media member to suggest replacing the coach…hallelujah lol…also no one seems to acknowledge Sullivan’s role in the roster creation

I don't know if Shirey's position is dependent on having team access/interviews any more. Who does he work for now? If he's more of an analyst without a team-affiliated platform, he can be honest.

Kudos to him.

I don't believe he has a credential. He's just watching on TV.

Yeah, he's kinda a Jesse type now. But Jesse has the double whammy of hockey experience and numerical experience. Shirey is more like...ex-journalist people liked?

Jesse has intimated he thinks Sully should be let go.

It's nice to be hearing it from people. Sully's time has been up here for 3 years.

He just does his own independent thing now. No team access. So the plus side of that is he can be more honest without worrying about the repercussions

What's funnier is Kingerski's response that I just read, some blokes were mocking him for it too lol.

Read the back and forth by Kingerski and Shirey in the comments lol.

Harkins f***ing sucks, he's playing average hockey for a player of his draft status that they could have just used a lad from wbs for instead.

I still refuse to ever join that cesspool of a site, but lol at other blokes saying what we've been saying to dipshits like Yohe.

If Kingerski's tweets don't highlight, underscore, and capitalize just how f***ing stupid the Pens' media is, I don't know what will.

You take the five WORST posters on HFPens and get them to post their takes on the Pens and it will still be magnitudes better than guys like Yohe, Kingerski, Rossi and Rararaaboobacgh.

Exactly. These blokes that are just Pens puppets are the worst kinds of fans and media types.

Interesting post game in LA tonight. Kings are 3-7-5 in their last 15 after their hot start. Tonight, they had a 3-1 lead vs Buffalo before losing 5-3.

Right out of the Pens playbook.

Drew Doughty ripped teammates without naming names, and McLellan was blunt, too.

Different tactics than Pens core and Sullivan. I'm not sure which approach is more effective -- ripping people or saying you need to dig deeper or whatever.

But we are seeing more of this around the league. I wonder if the league's parity has made it tougher to hold leads and some teams don't have the intelligence and fortitude to hold onto leads. And that's led to the spike in comebacks and blown leads.

Only thing of note:

LAK are freaking out

Their record is about the same as the Pens

But here we are, smelling our own farts and getting high

I don't think calling players out does MUCH. But it sure seems like a few players over there give a shit. Instead of our vanilla canned responses

10/10 the kings get their season to end better than ours.

To get to the Kings current P% the Pens would have to win 6 straight. We're not close.

All the most intelligent ppl I know who follow the Pens have said the same. The writing is on the wall.
What do you lose by firing Sullivan? Either the new coach is genuinely awful and you miss the playoffs you would have missed anyway, or he's better and it gives you a fighting chance in a series when he gets you in.

I see no downside atm. Zero.

I hate to be cynical but many of us called these exact problems in the preseason, so if idiots like me can see it coming, it doesn't give me any confidence that our all-knowing analytical overlords in FSG seem to be caught either totally flatfooted or simply don't care.

Mostly I'm just puzzled that FSG was supposed to be a hard-ass "results or gtfo" type owner who was willing to spend to the cap. And instead we got the exact opposite: rich, but scared to spend money and complacent with below-average results.

I'm still waiting for their vaunted ownership style to manifest.
It's due to their lack of knowledge about hockey. They are putting their trust in the wrong people, after taking it on faith that they're good at their jobs. Also falling prey to good impressions in interviews, since guys like Sullivan are commanding speakers.
They're not objectively assessing the team for themselves, because they don't have the experience watching the sport to come to their own conclusions. FSG have 1 representative who lives in Pittsburgh and reports back to them. He is 2 years into learning hockey. And while he's here he gets brainwashed into trusting in the process by our management.

This is very different from baseball and soccer. They know those sports...or at least the people they put in charge of those assignments do. And those people report back to their superiors with strong opinions.

I think it's just a case of rich guys wanting more toys. FSG bought the team cuz they could, and they wanted to get a revenue stream from hockey on top of baseball and soccer.

I think they're also twisted up like a pretzel cuz they don't want to begin the bleak years of plummeting attendance and lack of merch sales that'll come with the retirement/departure of Sid and Geno so they're just terrified to rock the boat. Guess they probably shoulda thought about throwing a billion at a team right on the razor's edge of like a decade of missing the playoffs.

100% agree there. They went with with the nepotism hire instead of the logical one. That one's squarely on them.
Just one of those things where if you said it about any other business on the planet people would be screaming about how stupid it was and here it's just SOP.

I just can't help but laugh at the stupidity of it all.
