I can just imagine Sullivan forlornly watching the waiver wire every day before sighing deeply and sadly shuffling back to his desk to work on... uh... whatever it is he's supposed to be working on.

...until today.
He’s in the lab working on a way to extract the sticktoitiveness from Chad Ruhwedel’s body so he can bottle and sell it.

And probably Sid to a degree. Everyone is still trying to find Kunitz Crosby Dupuis 2.0.
The problem gets compounded because we're no longer finding the prime versions of Kunitz and Dupuis. We keep filling out our lineup final year Kunitz and the Dupuis who had to retire due to a potential deadly health issue.

It doesn't matter if Geno has structure. He either won't or is unable to follow it.

It's probably because almost every hockey player calls Sid the best two hundred foot player in the world still but, what do his peers know?

If you watch ANY game Malkin constantly does a fly by or takes a lazy stick penalty in the d-zone. Malkin is supposed to be the offensive driver on his line is he not? Not sure who else you want to try with him. He's had everyone but, Jake. I have watched all but, one game this year. Malkin needs someone to cover his a$$ constantly. Maybe the narrative is correct this time.
what part of 2.6 GA/60 vs 2.7 GA/60 you don't understand?

Puustinen is literally right there. He played like 12 shifts with Geno and got like 4 points.

I hate Mike Sullivan. He’s just trolling at this point.
Puustinen has been crap for the last 9 games, zero points, I know, third line, etc but you have to show something to convince the coach taht you belong...I hate Sully too, but really what difference this roster would make if White is L2 and Puustinen is L3. The problem is structure, mental weakness, physical inferiority, lack of skills to play east west, defense can't get the puck out of our zone, etc...PP notwithstanding...not one defensman capable of clearing the screens, etc...I would bring poulin, bench Carter, etc, but what difference that would make really, I started getting doubts that even coaching change would make any difference

Yea, no.

Puustinen's 1st 10 games: 14.16 TOI, 1 G, 6 A, 7 Pts, 3.14 PPTOI
Puustinen's 9 games since Rust came back: 8:13 TOI, 0 G, 0 A, 0 Pts, 0.47 PPTOI

He was demoted when Rust game back and has not had a sniff of going back even though the offense is terrible. He is showing nothing because you'd have to be a superstar to produce with that deployment and those linemates. He's not a superstar. He's a complimentary scoring winger that this team needs very badly but the coach is too stupid to utilize his roster the right way.

Well... he won't be playing with scrubs, anymore! He has Rakell, now!

If Kingerski's tweets don't highlight, underscore, and capitalize just how f***ing stupid the Pens' media is, I don't know what will.

You take the five WORST posters on HFPens and get them to post their takes on the Pens and it will still be magnitudes better than guys like Yohe, Kingerski, Rossi and Rararaaboobacgh.
I think the worst for me was thinking Jesse Marshall was better than those wankers. Instead he was a Yohe and Rossi stan his entire life and is nothing different from those losers. Truly zero Penguins writers worth a damn. Just pure trash.

Yeah. His year has definitely not been CrazySexyCool.
Sully is making the entire roster go go chasing waterfalls. With so many players suffering from a lack of the red light special on the powerplay, there's no switch. We need take over time by a new coach.

This is from Vensel’s “From the Point” article today:

• Strong goaltending was the primary reason the Penguins made their push during December — that and their power play briefly performing as anticipated. But Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic have struggled this month, and it has cost them points. Jarry in particular has allowed a few softies at critical moments.

• Another thing I (and others) have noticed is that Jarry in recent weeks has been beaten blocker side on some longer shots, most of them off the rush. Until he gets his positioning straightened out, teams will continue to target that.

Since there’s no GDT yet, I’m putting this here…what do you know, the Cats are actually good at defense, unlike the paper tiger Pens lol

Head-to-head

While skill players like Reinhart popping off grab the attention, there’s a secret sauce to explain why the Panthers are one of the top teams in the East this season. And it has nothing to do with scoring.

That 'Finishing' rank is just bonkers.
Been going downhill for awhile as we age so no surprise to me…also our coach loves no-hands grinders lol to play his north-south hockey…

DK heavily defending Sullivan and his position not to fire him in his podcast this am lol

Speaking of Reinhart, what's he looking at for a new contract?

I know he's on pace for 60 G and over 100P, but he's shooting a bonkers 27.3%. Surely NHL GM's aren't going to pay him like he's a 100 point player, right? .....right???
