Those guys had legit long term injuries. Smith reportedly hasn't been all that happy to begin with. You think he won't get the NHLPA involved if he's healthy and the Pens keep him on LTIR?
im presuming Smith has a legit long term injury…Kane and Kucherov were not season ending injuries either and their teams got to stash them…of course Smith would have to be on board…he’s not a free agent and if he doesn’t like it here as the rumors suggest, he can rehab in Vegas

No offense, but.....you're just realizing that now?

It's been that way since Sullivan castrated Reaves and they traded him away.

No, it just seemed to be overly pathetic that they're even still bothering to do that and call it out even more.

The one last night really caught my attention as just a bump along the boards.

Something that has really stood out to me ... the last ten or so games I've caught on Root/FSP/whatever, where they do the hit of the game has been really lame. This team is just cottony soft. Charmin. It's like Ryan Whitney fathered 80% of them.

Not saying that is the reason we haven't won a playoff series in 6 seasons, but it's not helping.

This has been going on for a long time here.

Granted there aren't always good hits to pick from -- these are Mike Sulllivan's Vanilla Marshmallow Penguins, after all -- but I figured that Edgar Shyster (who pays to have his name on the HOTG) doesn't want to be associated with actual "violence" on the ice and so whoever picks the big Hit of the Game is instructed to never pick anything other than a real softie so as not to upset the sponsor.

Poulin, Nylander, Hinostroza and Puljujarvi all in WBS' lineup tonight on the road in New England.

Colin White is not.

While playing tonight does not prevent anyone from joining the Pens tomorrow, it make it less likely, especially with poor weather forecast throughout the east coast.

Possible White is just a veteran scratch, too, and they just roll with Zohorna tomorrow.

Something to monitor, though.

Kochetkov is in concussion protocol for the Canes, so Raanta is getting the start against us Saturday night…He's 8-5-2 with a 3.27 goals-against average, .862 save percentage…in other words, he sucks but that means he’ll probably post a .978 save % against the Pens lol
AR is 5-5-0 2.79/0.909 career against the Pens. In the last two seasons, he's 3-1 ~2.5/0.904. One of those games was in Carolina, when he gave up 2 on 24 shots (0.917) in a Carolina OT win.

IIRC, Canes are having at least bottom pairing defensive issues, so maybe Pens will muster more than 24 shots tonight. In any event, we know the Canes will do their best to bore us to death and - for those who are interested - many will likely be switching back to Peacock to watch the Dolphins and Chiefs.

Caps lost in regulation. Now tied with the Pens, but they are heading in the wrong direction.
Ok, here’s our January:
L, W, L, W, L, L …loser points are for losers

Heres the Caps January
W, L, L, W, L, W, L

they played one more game but I don’t see much difference

'Loser points' still count, whether you like it or not.

Also very convenient that January being the cutoff is right after the Pens had a 3 game win streak and the Caps lost 4 in a row (2 in OT, but apparently those don't count).
