The final piece of the puzzle is clearly Chris Tanev.

I was not a fan of acquiring EK from the beginning as I believed the cost would be too high, multiple firsts plus top prospects, while still having the bad contracts to get rid of. I also didn't think the Sharks would retain enough.

I was proved wrong by Dubas that it could be done effectively with only a small retention by SJ. No real negative effect on planning for future while keeping the hope alive for another Cup run, although admittedly not very likely. It will be fun to watch.

The current state of the main boards is that they had to lock a Crosby birthday thread because someone threw a tantrum that it wasn't fair not to wish everyone else who has a birthday today well.

I wish I were joking.

Humanity is boned.

Who cares, eat Arby's.
I remember someone on the main board creating a thread complaining that Google was obsessed with Crosby because every time he opened Google News half the stories were regarding Crosby. And he hated Crosby.

People pointed out to him that Google used algorithms based on individual search patterns.

So it wasn't Google obsessed with Crosby. He was obsessed with Crosby.

My only concern is next year with the cap. I just hope it goes up a good bit cause Jake will get his raise and POJ an Ty Smith with be RFA.

I wouldn't worry about next year. Nobody thought in April that Kyle Dubas was gonna be the next GM and he was gonna bring in Erik Karlsson, Reilly Smith, Ryan Graves and Noel Acciari and get rid of Granlund, Petry and Rutta.

Read the 1st five pages of the Sharks board about the trade. They act as if Grier did a great job for them. They're so hung up on the retention aspect of this. I get it to a point, but they won't be contenders for quite some time. Not sure retaining an extra million or two didn't cost them another asset. Maybe their owner is cheap. lol

In their position I would have preferred more. Oh well Dubas did well, if they want to believe Grier is some mastermind I suppose ignorance is bliss. lol

Dubas has a reputation for churning through bottom six players, too. And, ideally you have some cheap homegrown players start to hit.

I don't think it's too much to ask Poulin and Puustinen to have firm roles in the lineup by next year.

It would be incredible for this team if Poulin figured it out and lived up to some of his hype. Hes shown some flashes, would love to see him take that next step

After watching some highlights I’m putting Pitlick up on L1 until Jake comes back. Crafty dude.
