Upon further review (thanks JFTC), Thornton indeed had a field day against Mike Richards.

At home, try and get Stoll's line matched up against Jumbo Joe, with Richards going against the Pavelski line.

I know SJ has a great line up but y'all need to stop shaking in your boots. We know what this team is capable of and they can beat any team (except chicago) if they want to. :D

"As for possessing the puck, the Kings attempted 54.3% of the 608 total attempts at net in the five-game season series between the two teams. In four of the five games this season – Los Angeles was 3-1-1 in the regular season series and outscored San Jose 12-8, shootout goals excluded – the Kings out-attempted the Sharks."

Interesting note really. I think the underrated part of this series and what just about killed us last year (suck it, Torres) was losing so many faceoffs. Will be interesting to see what happens there this time.

That's some insane depth they got. It's stuff like that makes me want Clifford and Lewis gone for upgrades.

But we should be good.

Hate the lines.

Love Dwight King's season, but I've maintained that this team is going nowhere with him as a Top 6 option. He is perfectly suited for LW3, the same spot he flourished in during the 2012 run.

Seems like we had balance with a great 1st line, a dangerous 2nd line with 70-77-73, a pretty awesome 3rd line in 74-28-23 and then a very competent 4th line with Richards centering it.

Feels like we are back to a great first line, a 2nd line that will get torched, a 3rd line with Toffoli playing out of position and a 4th line that will never score a goal.

Awesome.

For the Richards apologists, let's see him earn that position from his play rather than last year's playoffs. If he is the Playoff Superhero some are expecting, he will show that from the 4th line and PP and can then be bumped up the roster.

Never happy when I look at the rushes and my initial thought is immediately "gross".

I'm actually a fan of that 3rd line. That is a perfect LA Kings playoff hockey line. Cycle, forecheck, hit and if the Kings want to win, that line needs to score a few goals.

I'm a Pejorative Slur.. I thought the third line was King/Stoll/Brown... what is Sutter doing? This can all change in a moments notice so I'm not too concerned for the time being. I'll wait until they lose a game.

EDIT: I'm totally conversing with myself online. How narcissistic is that?

Paging KingKopitar!

The guy is clearly just a Richards hater, duh! These overrated advanced stats are just like 5 goals and 20 points since Thanksgiving, the -14 over the past two years when everyone else on the team was a plus. These are all useless stats that haters talk about to bring him down.

WoW!! Look at how awful those numbers are. Yet here we are promoting this guy to 2nd line strictly based off of past accomplishments.

The sad thing is, atleast a guy like Ovechkin is a threat to score to make up the defensive stats. To steal one from Chick Hearn, "Richards couldn't shoot a puck into the ocean right now" to go along with his ridiculously awful defensive and possession numbers.

But hey, only 6 more years, 492 more games and 34 million in cap space. Sorry RP and DMac, I respect your guys opinions, but if he continues to suck in the playoffs he is gone, either by trade or buy out. I don't care how much Dean liked him in his prime, no way can anyone justify paying someone so much to provide so little.

Carter-Richards-King
Brown-Stoll-Toffoli
Nolan-Lewis-Clifford/Pearson

Why wouldn't the Kings switch Brown and TT? Both are playing out of position. Weird.
