Too soon to say. Lowry is 'interim' HC. Not likely an interim guy would make those kinds of changes. Chevy could, but might wait until a new permanent HC is named.
Next HC contract needs a provision that states he will be immediately fired if he ever ices the CSW lineup

Yeah… I think they try to keep as much consistency as possible now that they’ve made the big change. Maybe a bit of shuffling, but likely not much replacing

Waiting on Trotz or let’s give Lowry a fair shake too
Chevy said Lowry will serve as interim for the remainder, so they’re not in a rush to replace HC… likely giving Lowry a tryout to prove he can do it or not

So long Paul, good servant that you were. Classy and good interview, but not the guy WE need going forward. Best of luck, although hockey being what it is you won't need luck. There's always a team that will stay within the boundaries and hire only from the same group.
I'm excited to see where we can go now. Lowry may work out - hope so, he seems like a solid character.
If we do get something from the Islanders coaching staff, I can pretty much guarantee it won't be Trotz - he's not going anywhere - even if they continue to struggle this year. Their assistant coach - Lane Lambert is the guy I would go after and he's overdue for a shot.
I'm excited to see where we can go now. Lowry may work out - hope so, he seems like a solid character.

That "go home and put the knives and ropes away" comment is one of the funniest thing ever said in an NHL presser. I remember I was in a university class, browsing on my laptop instead of listening to prof and chortled out loud when I heard him say that. Everyone looked at me like I was insane.

This is representative of the class with which the Jets conduct business. It's clear that this wasn't a firing or a resignation, but rather an exit plan for both the Jets and Maurice at a time when change was inevitable.
When an employer and employee can part ways like this it shows that both parties have the team's best interests at heart.
While I hated a lot of the ways in which Maurice handled the on ice stuff, he was always classy and should be remembered for that.
Let's not forget that while his NHL record is somewhat mediocre with the Jets he was the one who directed the development of the young talent into what we see today. Helle, Connor, Ehlers, Morrissey, Lowry, and the list goes on benefited greatly from PoMo's teaching.
I wish him the best, but I'm more excited about the team's future under a new directly.
