The decision was probably made before the road trip, or after that devastating failure in Nashville. I remember when Cappy was fired it came after a 4-0 win, last game of a road trip, and he must have known because he seemed sad when he was interviewed after the game. Don't think Lane knew the game was over though.

developed into a coach that the players will get to know.

this is patrick roy. this will fire up the boys and have a massive amount of influence, and hopefully bring a strong willingness to play for such a legend.

i’m hoping it further influences the francophones Pageau and Gauthier.

in theory the coach will let goalie coach do their thing, but no chance in hell Roy isn’t giving pointers and chatting with the goalies directly as well.

Just found out about this. Roy was not a name I was thinking of, but a passionate, fiery guy is a definite plus. Initial reaction is very positive. I guessed Lambert might be fired at the end of the last long road trip. Right idea, wrong trip.

One would have to think Roy should be better in his second stint as a Coach. Most learn their lesson when they fail, so him having that Hall Of Fame Fire and learned from his previous mistakes may make him a real commodity. It's a roll of the dice and I welcome him in. What do we have to lose?
