Ah yes, cause Kevyn Adams is notorious for doing this. Sabres analytics team which their AGM is a massive part of will not allow Kane to happen and Adams listens to the team around him.

Unless Pegula meddles and wants this done for jersey selling purposes, there’s a very low shot
For a team that plays pond hockey already and has like 2.5 NHL D, you’d hope their GM doesn’t need his team to tell him Kane isn’t a good use of his cap space.

He obviously wasn´t a fit in NY. Way too many similar players and they got even more one-dimensional. He would probably do the best in a team like Carolina that would work really hard for him. Or for the Devils that would skate for him. He is who he is now.

BUF has cap space probably throw $8M x 5 years.
Buffalo's cap space is disappearing in 2024 when Dahlin and Power get raises. They also have no need for wingers. Their winger roster is Skinner Tuch Quinn Peterka Olofsson Krebs Greenway and then prospects coming such as Savoie Ostlund (centers but might be NHL wingers) Rosen and Kisakov.

Kane after surgery probably is a lot better.
Yea, my gut feeling is he can still come back and bring value to the right team. He is Kaner after all. But I don't think Buffalo's young roster makeup is the right fit.

Feel like he could be dirty somewhere like Carolina. Not sure if Pacioretty is the answer for them moving forward.

It was fairly clear he was playing with an injury.
Kane with a successful surgery and time to heal will be a considerable asset to a contending team mid season and on thru the playoffs.

Here are all the outside UFAs that Adams has signed to 1-way deals over the past two off seasons.

I doubt we see Adams change course this summer and go crazy. Especially for an over the hill winger like PKane when they have all sorts of scoring wingers on the roster and in the pipeline.

Will turn 35 years in November of 2023. All time legend, nobody has more points over the last 13 seasons. 3X Stanley Cup winner. Analytic nerds think he stinks. What do you think he signs for this summer?

Eye test nerds also agree he stinks at this stage in his career

Unless Buffalo moves some of their current forwards for help on blueline or in net, it’s hard to see a fit for Kane.

Feel like his upcoming contract is going to be one of the more difficult ones to project. On one hand he is older and one-dimensional and on the other he is Patrick Kane.
