There's been nothing bad since 2015 with him off the ice. And he's had a long term gf with a kid now. He's been a leader off the ice working with younger players or setting up practices during covid. It's a lot of way back in the past elements that have gone away since he stopped hanging out with old family and friends in Buffalo.

That doesn't fix the player he has become which is not something the Sabres need.

As for off-ice, there was such a ponderous amount of talk about his summer entourage that they probably don't need to even think about it.

Please keep him away from Buffalo...everytime he's back in Buffalo for extended time it seems there's an alleged assauly, alleged rape, etc.

Dude was a trashbag as a teenager and anyone in Buffalo that knew him as a teenager can back that up.

Are you from South Buffalo? There's PLENTY of stories about how awful he was/is. So he has a kid and a girlfriend now, cool?

He's still the same person that spit in the face of bouncers, assaulted a cab driver, brought his own liquor to bars, and was accused of sexual assault. Pleaseeeee keep him away from Buffalo,

Kane will return to Chicago in a couple years but not now.... unless Chicago wins the draft lottery in a couple hours

He’s obviously such a terrible person and influence on the Blackhawks locker room that they won 3 Cups with him as leader on the team.

Meanwhile Buffalo wouldn’t want anyone to spoil their record of playoff futility.

Seriously, GTFO.

Has zero to do with winning, has more to do with putting quality people on your team. Wins and losses mean nothing when your players are awful people. But feel free to celebrate his accomplichments, you do you.

And this is an awful take.

For a city that doesn’t win anything. They should be focused on bringing in the best talent above all else and Kane clearly has the pedigree, especially come playoff time.

He might not be what they need now but the negative influence garbage is clearly easy to disprove by looking at the Blackhawks record during his tenure.

If he's chasing a cup I'd take him on the oilers on a low dollar figure (not saying the oilers will win a cup, chill)

If he's chasing dollars I'm sure a team will offer him a 4.5 mil contract they will regret

I mean honestly it just makes sense.

Bedard doesn't have to play with absolute plugs and Kane finally gets his due in playing with talent that won't be traded away.

Sure maybe they won't compete for a cup next year but after that? Sky is the limit.

Rather the Oilers to go after another D man. Someone to play on the top pairing with Nurse.

Nurse XXXX
Ekholm Bouchard
Broberg Kulak
Vinny

Out Ceci
Well with the money saved from Yama to a 1M RWer Oiler could do just that.

He said during his exit interview he really wants to be back with the Rangers. I could see the small deal and LTIR scenario if it’s plausible. Rangers will need RW depth after Kakko and although I’d want Tyler Bertuzzi, I think he’ll price himself out of the Rangers range.
