WE shall see!Very unlikely the Sabres make the playoffs, the East is just way too strong.

How do You know? The Buffalo Sabres are in 7th in the Atlantic they will not be in on Patrick Kane
How do You know?
At this point the Sabres should have more interest in Toews than in Kane. We're lacking 2 way forwards who can win face offs, not offense only guys like Kane.
Yeah and the Sabres still have more use for a washed Toews than Kane right now.Toews is completely washed
Yep! They are “a little young and short on experience“, what would bringing Pat Kane do to help that?I was about to ask why it makes sense for Buffalo to buy P. Kane but I see this is an old thread
if anything target as a FA but paying for him with their situation. like they are a good up and coming team but they aren't there yet. they got the pieces I think that can get them there but overall a little young and short on experience. also stuck in a tough division
alright then trade assets in your rebuild and buy Patrick Kane when your not that close to being a contender yet.Yep! They are “a little young and short on experience“, what would bringing Pat Kane do to help that?
But really, the Sabres right now lead the league in GF. Offense is not the issue. And even with their pourous defense/goaltending they are +8 in goal differential despite like an 8 game losing streak. Yes, they are in a tough division and need to claw their way back from 7th in the division, but I wouldn’t be counting them out just yet. Lots of hockey to play and lots of positive signs they can be competitive this year.
It’s a 3 way deal. Kane has to agree. Buffalo has to agree and finally has to agree on a return.
Maybe maybe not.in thst hypothetical…Chicsgo won’t get what they want.
it’s happened before with deadline deals and player NMC
personally I don’t have interest in Kane unless this scenario occurs and it only costs a mid 2nd and an avg prospect.
I agree with you that he’s not the answer. That was the majority of my response. I’m just saying that they shouldn’t avoid bringing in experienced players. If there was a good, older defenseman similar, I would certainly consider it.alright then trade assets in your rebuild and buy Patrick Kane when your not that close to being a contender yet.
seems like a waste of assets for a rental Im sure there are cheaper players that can give some playoff experience.
yes lots of hockey to be played but do you really see Kane as the missing piece to turn things around and Buffalo into an instant contender? seems little early to be making big moves like that imo. so far Buffalo has been doing a great job but they got some work ahead of them. a bandaid fix prob shouldn't be the direction right now.
Kane is having a mediocre season, I don’t know if Chicago would even fetch a 1st for him/his cap hit at this rate, unless it’s a very low 1st from a top 5 team.
I wouldn’t move Buffalo’s 1st for him.
They control their own fate, plus the old Gm was still under a delusion of competingPuzzled why Blackhawks haven’t move Kane or Toews earlier when their value was higher. Chicago have not been a playoff team for years
He will get a first easily. Buffalo sending a first for him makes no sense agreedKane is having a mediocre season, I don’t know if Chicago would even fetch a 1st for him/his cap hit at this rate, unless it’s a very low 1st from a top 5 team.

My advice "Buffalo you looking fine girl! Stay young!" and be choosy don't settle for less than you deserve! This is assuming Kane is requesting to go home to Buffalo and the Sabres are somewhat in the playoff hunt in February. Sabres could just wait to sign him next summer but it could be a trade similar to Taylor Hall where the Sabres got a 2nd, Bjork and Lazar. Chicago doesn't want him to walk for nothing. Buffalo does have three 2nd round picks in 2023 and also have the rights to Portillo and Ryan Johnson which could all be included in a package. What is realistic at the deadline under this scenario.
