Value of: Patrick Kane to the Sabres at the trade deadline

Nope, Bettman met with all the principals and punished many of them.

Evidently a lot of brains but no memory (or polish).
So you are saying Bettman didn’t investigate or Punish many involved?
You’ve now mocked multiple people for not knowing of hearings that seemingly exist only in your mind. If you can provide a citation to hearings on the matter then go ahead, or you can just acknowledge you are wrong.

Ok, you’re right. Bettman never met with any of them.
I typed “Bettman investigation of Blackhawks and google gave dozens of references to his calling in all the principles to question them and learn what they know/knew.
Technically (I looked the term up also) those would be hearings (a formal informational meeting between parties) on the topic. You do (or should) know not all are open to the public.

But I’m done with this. I did the work for you. Now I have football to watch.

What does that have to do with Kane? If you saw it in the news then you know nobody associated with the club below the level of asst coach knew what happened until years later.
The players thought the coach hit on him, nothing more. Quenneville is on record as keeping it from the players so it didn’t distract from the cup run.
So now, gather your thoughts (and maybe some facts) take your time and explain what the incident has to do with Kane’s trade value.

Again, this has what to do with Kane’s trade value? (Please use facts in your

Here is the nhl report. The nhl report say that 2 players said everyone knew

One mistake doesn't mean you make another. I think they do have a chance to sign him in the off-season. Length will be the issue. No question he's a legit star today. The people who insist Sabres are bottom feeders are not really following the depth of the prospect. Does it dovetail with the remaining years Kane has in the league, I believe it does.
If the Skinner contract didn't exist, signing Kane to $9x5 would not be a mistake.

I bet Kane performs closer to being worth $9m avv in 2027 than Jeff Skinner does in 2023 or any of the other years of his contract.

Holy f***! No it doesn’t. They knew the guy was a perv. They knew he would make advances. They did not know Beach was physically sexually assaulted.
And I quote from the article” everyone knew about Aldrich engaging in inappropriate conduct with players”. Then they disputed it by interviewing 14 players with six saying “ don’t know nothing about that” and rest saying I knew about it but not sure of date, probably after Stanley cup. They did not interview the entire team and they did not say why.

Sopel and Boynton also say they told the strength coach. That strength coach in his interview said Beach told him. One of those 2 said Jake Dowell told them, Jake Dowell said he only recalled learning in training camp. People somehow keep thinking all this means is they're lying. Do people know nothing about memory? It's totally reconstructive and fallible. When just last week had the 9/11 anniversary, it's just something that highlights how so many people think they perfectly remember details from that day but are wrong when questioned. Because memory doesn't hold well even with significant events even though people act like it should.

But this is a dumb sidetrack. That 20 year old Kane didn't do anything when his older vet teammates did, doesn't somehow limit the trade desire for Buffalo. But if anything from the last did you'd think the dropped rape charge against Kane would be it. Because also after that Kane pretty solidly stayed on Chicago and does he even want to go to Buffalo anymore?

Article describes tires and kanes defence of management after the crisis hit. And Kane apologizing to the players

Toews. Dam autocorrect

This thread just gotten so stupid with these posts over the last page or so. Just dumb and a silly attempt to try and spin ones dumb view.

Two players said so eh? Why didn’t the much older Brent sopel and Nick boynton not do anything then.
I don’t know. Maybe team culture or lawyer advice. Just guessing. But this is what players on that team said

These are not my articles. You can find them easily with a google search. It is also what is in the nhl report. Public documents that raise doubt

Another arricle. 3 players said everyone knew

The dumbest part of the thread is that interviews = testimony = hearings.

Fully retained Kane starts at a 1st and borderline blue chipper. Not a teams top prospect one who’s likely a recent 1st rounder with good potential. Shouldn’t be a hard ask since most contenders will still need to off set cap even with Kane at max retention.

Someone will trade for him at the deadline and then he signs for Sabres as a free agent. Islanders will have the cap space at the deadline to do it if they are in the race.

If Buffalo trades Olofsson

Skinner Cozens Kane
Krebs Thompson Quinn
Asplund Mittelstadt Tuch
Savoie Girgensons Peterka
Okposo

Kulich Ostlund Rosen still in the pipeline

Roll 4 lines for the next 4 years (assuming Kane signs for 4 years)

Awww, just because the Sabres are building a better pool of prospects and are further ahead than Detroit doesn’t need you to be so salty. It’s a shame Yzerman added vets to ruin a perfect opportunity to grab Bedard. So short sighted.
No need to communicate in a dickish tone and make Sabres fans look bad. Sometimes you gotta realize it's just a game- love you brother as a fellow Sabres fan- but I hear you chirp an awful lot and the only thing Sabres have done good in recent memory is beating Eichel's Vegas and a few good trades/drafts.

Loved the Wings as a kid with Datsyuk and Zetterberg and hope they're a playoff team these next couple years, their fans have suffered long enough. Good luck to any Wings fans reading this.

There will be a bidding war for Kane at the deadline.

I would want to trade Kane now, even for a disappointing return, to go to full tank.
I think this would be the right move. Kane + lessor return + best chance of 1st OA has more value than than a late 1st++ as trade value at the deadline = 3rd or 4th OA

If I am Kane and wanted to go to Buffalo I would let it leak that I was I was signing there let Giroux did with the Sens. It seems we know where the top UFAs are signing every year. Hyman and Campbell were known to sign with the Oilers weeks ahead of time. Kane can save Buffalo their assets

But the entire premise of the thread is that there are magical circumstances.

A: The Sabres are in playoff contention
B: Kane will only waive for Buffalo

When players do get that specific they don't return much.

I could honestly see Chicago keep him out of spite rather than accept a 2nd rounder or whatever if these highly unlikely circumstances were to actually occur.
This magical circumstance could still happen. Starting to sound like Kane might not want to get moved at the deadline and then off to another team in the summer.
