Value of: Patrick Kane to the Sabres at the trade deadline

Everyone dies eventually. Imlach lived about a decade after his Buffalo time ended.
You cad!
You could have said he was fired and been correct.
He didn’t die on the job. … the team did though.
Ah, crap. I remembered his heart attack, but not that he survived it. You are correct. Enjoy this state. Feel free to read it aloud to increase the effect.

(I concede nothing. Because this is social media and for entertainment purposes only. As amply demonstrated elsewhere, no accuracy is actually required -- only an irreverently expressed opinion. )

Kane is going to a contender. I dont see why buffalo would give up the large asset cost when they will be in tough to make playoffs

The only reason would be at the beginning of the season to sell tickets. They'd have to really overachieve for a deadline deal. I can't see the sabres giving up a 1st and a top prospect and then likely a second-tier prospect for Kane. That's the minimum. And that would look like 2023 1st, maybe Kulich and maybe Rosen.

This is assuming Kane is requesting to go home to Buffalo and the Sabres are somewhat in the playoff hunt in February. Sabres could just wait to sign him next summer but it could be a trade similar to Taylor Hall where the Sabres got a 2nd, Bjork and Lazar. Chicago doesn't want him to walk for nothing. Buffalo does have three 2nd round picks in 2023 and also have the rights to Portillo and Ryan Johnson which could all be included in a package. What is realistic at the deadline under this scenario.
He just finished additional work to his Western New York estate a year and a half ago in anticipation of spending more time there.
The chance he comes home is all but assured, why give assets when you can wait until the off season and spend nothing but money, which the Sabres will have plenty of cap space to do. Notice how they didn't take on any mid term, 2 or 3 year bad contracts for assets? There's a reason for this I'd surmise.......

I heard he just remodeled one of his bathrooms in his Chicago condo. Rumor has it that he also painted the kitchen.

There will be a bidding war for Kane at the deadline.

I would want to trade Kane now, even for a disappointing return, to go to full tank.

Kane controls everything with his NMC. He could decide to stay in Chicago the entire season walking him to UFA.

I was just asking for him to verify his claim that the RW prospects were "way ahead" of the Sabres. I also posted a resource to the contrary of his claim. Did you read what I posted? Pretty straight forward stuff man.

I guess if you don't like how they conduct their rankings you should take it up with The Hockey Writers or The Athletic or any of the other publications that discredit his claim. I mean, it was a ridiculous claim by a zealous poster and I'm not sure why a reasonable fan is defending it.

Cess pool Chain. Not sure why I stepped in it.

The reasons why Kane likely goes elsewhere are myriad, why the Hawks would make a deal of limited return value so sparse... it's such an outlier as a concept to not be worth it.

Highly unlikely that he screws them over like that.

Did you mean to quote me? I didn't make a trade proposal

I’m not a Wings fan but did you read what you posted.
The Buffalo kids who played NHL games were counted in the prospect rankings.
Raymond and Seider (2 red wing rookies) were not considered because they both can close to winning the Calder.
So if Raymond and Seider were still considered which pool would you rather have?
Sabres hands down - look at the quality and depth bro it’s not as close as you think it is

The Sabres won't be anywhere near a playoff spot with Comire and Anderson as their tandem

they will probably finish above Montreal but that's about it because Ottawa and Detroit got significantly better, TB TOR and FLA are still top 3 and while Boston is old they are still better than Buffalo until Bergeron retires

Which ever city has the most cab drivers is where Kane will go. Prob New York or L.A

You are discounting the possibility of UPL stepping up during the season -- to me that's the only way they make playoffs. Anderson is done.

if the sabres are "somewhat in the playoff hunt" it would make absolutely no sense for kane to go there at the deadline. and it would make maybe slightly more sense (but still, not really) for the sabres to get him. but, only if they really want to break the drought, more than their commitment to "the process."

kane will go to a legit contender. and the only way he goes to buffalo in the offseason is if they make significant progress this season.

There is some talk radio rumor that after a trade to a contender Kane re-signs with Chicago. There are some all time team records within his reach.
The Hawks will have abundant cap space. Could overpay him and trade him retained at the deadline two years in a row.

Lining up next to McDavid or Draisaitl could potentially inflate his numbers a LOT more heading into another contract.

Imagine Kane sitting on a career best 115 season going into another contract?

Sabres should not be giving up assets for a rental anytime soon. Wait for the summer to see if Kane to Sabres makes any sense for anybody.
