I really dislike the Bruins, but Bergeron's a class act. Congrats on a great career. Enjoy retirement with your amazing family!

Unbelievable career, probably one of the best leaders a team could ask for. When he battled through playoffs with a punctured lung and a dislocated shoulder.. absolute warrior. The definition of why hockey players are labelled as the toughest athletes.

Legend of the game, generational equivalent to a Steve Yzerman or George Armstrong. It will be weird not having him in the league anymore.

A lot of younger fans don’t realize that he came very close to not even playing the past 15 years due to a massive head injury on a check from behind. He came back after a long absence and his game matured dramatically after that.

Warrior. All-time great in our generation. Im glad I got the privilege to watch him growing up.

Stanley Cup champ
2x Olympic champ
World champ
- Triple Gold Member
World junior champ
WCoH champ
6x Selke trophy winner - league record atm
A whole shit ton of other awards

Hes going out a winner of everything. Now hes a legend. He will be a first ballot HOFer. Congratulations on an all-time career to Bergy and Bruins fans who got to cheer him on over the years.

With Craig Anderson and Bergeron retiring, MAF and Burns are the only pre '04 lockout players left (assuming Eric Staal is done). Crazy.

Blackhawks fan coming to say that PB had a hell of a career and was always a pleasure to watch. Played the game hard and was one of the very best at his role. Congratulations, Patrice!

Never liked him since he was a bruin but great career and will be a Hall of Famer

Classy guy that got the better of the leafs (along with the other bruins 3 times)

Could see him in coaching/player development in a few years. He had strong hockey IQ and if he can transfer that into teaching he will be a good coach

Not going to lie I could see them waiving the 3 years or whatever the wait time is for him.

Fantastic career.

I assumed his decision to retire was just over 50 and took thos time to see where his heart lied and got to 100% retirement.

I wonder if he'll stay away, join the Bruins in some capacity, or take a year, or two off and join them then.
I love the guy but there’s no way they waive the wait period for the HHOF or as some people are suggesting retire his number league wide.

Congrats on the career.

Not gonna wade into some of the hot takes in here. Not the time or place...

Congratulations to one of the best to ever lace them up. Captain, honoured opponent, victor, legend. May the next chapter in life be as successful as his playing career.

Thank God. Now I can hate Boston again. No, I'm joking. Congrats on the great career Bergeron.

Good lord it's weird losing Getzlaf and Bergeron so close to each other.

Randy Jones only highlight, not the one a player would want.

The last person to win a Selke should be Bergeron. From now on, all future players should be winning the Bergeron trophy.

HHOF player & fantastic career. Quite the collection of trophies he's earned over the years.
