Also shame to the Rangers for not just immediately cross checking pastrnak in the face for that. That was such a blatant run that they just went to hug him instead? Cowards.

He sees numbers all the way, Lindgren is coming in well ahead of him and their shoulders are virtually parallel with Pastrnak way behind him. He has to, literally has to know at this point that he's not going to make shoulder to shoulder contact without driving from behind.

Lindgren, however, hasn't materially changed the angle of his shoulders the entire time he's crossing the back of the net and comes at the puck kind of flat footed as if to indicate that all he's going to do is chip it on the wall or worst case get smothered

Pastrnak can try to seal the play up the wall or seal the player, nothing about these images suggest he's got a green light to crush Lindgren (unless a third still had Lindgren pick the puck up and try to wheel out of the corner himself, which he was very obviously not going to do).

Sees numbers all the way, took off like a rocket and hit high...
he did not see numbers all the way.

Victim Blaming 101.
I was talking about the earlier clean hit bud

Not the boarding.

I didn't say the hit wasn't clean, I said he was trying to hurt him. The two don't have to co-exist. Or does Pastrnak usually go after players with several big hits in a single game? That's not something I've seen him do before.
He’s been known to throw some big hits

Crushed Reilly a few games back vs the leafs

Took down clutterbuck with a big one on Friday night

the 1st round exit after their "legendary season",
There was a HOST of reasons why Boston lost last year in the first round, but none of them include anything that was in their control. In fact, outside forces had a hand.

Also, I slowed down the video, zoomed, and enhanced and it turns out that it wasn't even Pasta who hit Lindgren. It was Trouba all along.

He was a little lucky Ryan Strome is no longer on the team. Would have showed Panarin how to knock him down after that hit. The excuses are hilarious when it's a star player doing it.

He was clearly targeting Lindgren because of previous beef. I don’t understand the willful ignorance of that.
It’s just dumb. The first hit on Lindgren was as clean, solid, and good as they get, Was it a problem because it was “premeditated”? No. The title to the OP is silly and drama filled. Every hit is “premeditated”.

It’s pretty funny. Just like the Twitter post a few posts later that says Pasta “targeted” Lindgren.

Of course everyone in the League knows that Pasta is just a big bully. What with his premeditated targeting of players and all.

I thought the Rangers liked rough and physical hockey. Regardless of whether Pasta caught Lindgren in the numbers on the second hit, this premeditated and targeting stuff is soft as baby poo.

Was Pasta trying to nail Lindgren? Of course he was. Is Trouba a bad guy because he hits hard? I guess with the pre-meditated targeting he does, he must be.

And for the record, I like Trouba. And have zero problem with him being a big hitter, even if he sometimes gets the timing/angles wrong.

somehow this is seeing the numbers all the way now.
Yes, but Pasta the bully has peripheral vision abilities that a Gekho would envy!!!!!

Panarin got two minutes "roughing" for just holding Pasta after it happened... if someone actually cross checked pasta the rangers would have been short handed... Because Boston.

No, probably because… cross checking is a penalty.

You need to watch a little closer. Panarin got the two mins for roughing with Wotherspoon. Although I will grant you that Wotherspoon does have a p, an s, and an n in his name. Of course the number on the jersey and the much longer name plate should have been a hint for you.

With a run like that. It doesn’t matter who ends up on the PP. You respond in kind to Pastrnak for that.

If that was the case then they both should have gotten matching minors... But that didn't happen... Because Boston.

Trouba got a fine for a two handed stick swing to the head of Frederick that connected.…… Because New York.

Am I doing this right?

Pastrnak is a pimp. He never could have boarded Lindgren

Depends... I fully admit Trouba should have gotten more.

Are you admitting that Pasta should get more?

5 minute major and a game is fine, in my book. I suspect given that Pasta has not been reported to have gotten a DOPS meeting call, that the League agrees (not that they are always or even regularly on the right side of these sorts of things).

Regardless, he got much more than Trouba got for something that was at least intended to be a hockey play.

Hitting a guy in the numbers into the boards is not a hockey play...

Hence the whole... Getting thrown out of the game.

Not suspension worthy, but Lindgren didn't turn there. Call as is was right.

Are you sure about that? I mean, nobody can take strides while facing the boards, and Lindgren surely did not. As far as can tell from the video, his body was perpendicular to the boards, until the moment Pastrnak is about a stick length away. See post 288 above. At that point Lindren begins to turn to get his shoulder forward to play the puck on the backhand, and is facing the boards at the time of the hit.
